What do we know about bar charts already?

We know a bar chart should:* have a title.

* have numbered and labelled axis.

* have clear bars showing how much of

something has been observed/recorded.

* be numbered with sensible intervals.

* answer questions about the data.

Horizontal axis (x). Always labelled.

Vertical axis (y). Always labelled and numbered.

A bar chart always has a title.

The height of the bars show how many of something was scored/recorded.

It might also

have a ‘legend’.

This shows what the colour of each bar represents.

How can we collect the information we need to construct

A frequency chart is similar to a tally chart…except you just write the

number instead of recording by tally!
