so are our hand-crafted and finished Nesmuk folding knives, which demonstrate the highest

skilled craftsmanship and special know-how. each knife is unique from the blade over the

spring up to the bezel. Clear aesthetics, the specific shape of the blade and the unusual

steel selection make Nesmuk folders the ideal choice for cutting meat in a stylish and res-

pectful way even away from home. They are a clear statement for gourmets who know how

to appreciate the extra ordinary.

All of our folding knives contain no visible nuts or screws. Because of the Nesmuk folder’s

extremely low gap tolerance, the fitting of spring and blade must be accurate to a hund-

redth. designed as a classical slip joint, the 8.5 cm long blade is positioned and held in

place only by a backstrap that counteracts to a weight of approx. 600 g. For safety reasons,

the blade will stop at opening or closing with a stop-off at 90 degrees. due to the blade’s

special shape and on the basis of proper use of knife, the cutting edge should hold its

sharpness for a long time. only the tip of the blade becomes blunt over time.

The rounded bezel with the Nesmuk bat on one side can be personalised with an individual

engraving on the other side if desired. For even greater individuality, folding knives from our

knife ranges eXklusIV, JANus and soul are available with 12 different types of handles

ranging from silver to gemstone, piano lacquer or precious woods.

Unique elegance and the highest precision: The intricately

hand-forged damascus blade on the Nesmuk eXklusIV

folder consists of two different types of steel, which have

been folded and twisted repeatedly to produce the blade's

unique pattern (Torsion damascus). This blade of extreme

and long-lasting sharpness has a rockwell hardness of

60 (+/-1) HrC. The handle is made out of lapis lazuli –

a precious stone that is only formed under the effects

of high pressure and high temperature in different types of

rock such as marble.

Nesmuk eXklusIV folders are delivered in a high-quality piano

lacquer case together with a certificate of authenticity. A cow nappa

leather pouch with solid kydex frame is sold separately.

bLAck jAdE is also called god’s stone. Jade is a gemstone

which originates from volcanic processes with a compressive

strength higher than steel. tIGEr IroN is a fusion of the

gemstones tiger’s-eye, haematite and red jasper. since each

of these stones has different characteristics it is regarded

as one of the most difficult gemstones to process.

For the exclusive handles of the Nesmuk folder the gem-

stones must be chosen very carefully. extensive expertise

is required to extract the most beautiful and robust pieces

from the rough stone. After having been selected, the rough

stones are face ground and shaped. Then they are lavishly

polished by hand.

HAmmEr-bLow SILvEr (handcrafted): the handle shells

made of the finest polished silver are securely screwed to-

gether like all of our handles. The screw joints are comple-

tely invisible in order to maintain the perfect shape of the

folder.

Perfected & refined: the Nesmuk JANus folder is equipped

with a blade made of special stainless steel distinguished

by a very fine microstructure. A high-quality matt black

dlC coating (diamond-like carbon; a 3 μ thick, amorphous

carbon coating) further enhances the outstanding friction

properties and thus significantly improves the cutting

performance of the 60 HrC hard blade. shown above is the

JANus folder with a black piano lacquer handle.

The delicate vArNISHES specially developed for Nesmuk

are clearly distinguishable by their very stable surface,

colour depth and colour saturation. A special process is

used to mould the varnish, mill the handle shells out of the

compact varnish and then polish them elaborately. our

folding knives with handle shells made of piano lacquer are

available in four different colours. Nesmuk JANus folder is

also available with a hammer-blow silver handle.

of aesthetic appeal, cutting performance and life-span

perfectly reflects the “essence” of Nesmuk. The subtle

blade is made of high-performance stainless steel

containing niobium. The niobium content provides the

blade with an outstanding toughness and a very fine metal

structure resulting in an excellent sharpness and edge

retention. Its hardness is 60 HrC. The handle is made of

White ebony.

which are oiled and polished in an elaborate procedure.

dESErt IroNwood:

– one of the densest woods worldwide

– darkens considerably, therefore Nesmuk solely offers

the “high contrast” version

bIrcH bUrL, bLAck:

– Country of origin: europe

– soft, open-pored wood which is stabilised by liquid,

coloured acrylic glass. The highly viscous glass is drawn

into the interspaces of the wood by vacuum. After this

treatment the wood is highly impact-resistant and can

be processed exactly like dense, hard wood.

guarantees an extreme and prolonged level of sharpness.

We exclusively recommend the use of the Nesmuk folder

strops when caring for and maintaining the sharpness of

the folder blades.

The strop is as well-conceived and exceptional as the

Nesmuk folder itself: The core made out of dark brown

Grenadilla – a high-quality African hardwood – carries two

tough, fine-pored strips of leather, one side with a rough

and the other with a fine diamond paste coating.

drawing both sides of the blade three to four times across

the two strips of leather – first rough and then fine – is

sufficient to maintain the condition of the blade and keep it

permanently sharp.

The Nesmuk folder strop comes with a matching leather

pouch for convenient storage.
