This is when thecattle, decked out in garlands of flowers and ribbons, with bells attached totheir heavy leather collars, are driven down from the Alpine pastures totheir winter quarters down in the valley. The homecoming of the cows isstill a very special and proud day for the village. Dinner in the hotel.day 5 Boats and trains today, firstly we visit Jenbach, where we join theoriginal Achenseebahn cog railway. Dating back to 1889, these steamengines are some of the oldest in the world still to be used for publictransport. The train winds its way up above the Inn Valley to its destination,the largest Alpine lake in the Tyrol, Lake Achen. We then join the short boatcruise from Seespitz to Pertisau where we have free time before returningto Fulpmes for dinner. day 6 Today we head to Innsbruck, capital of theTyrol, we have a guided tour in the morning , see the golden roof, theImperial palace and historic old town. Bolzano is home to‘Otzi’ the famous Ice Man, and the oldest natural human mummy. The Woodlandhas been regenerated and now includes a Rhododendron Glade full of springflowering bulbs, time to view the gardens and have lunch before we travelthe short distance into Harrogate and our hotel the Holiday Inn.
