President’s Message
Al-Marif Trust was started with the sole aim to serve humanity.
As the country grows day by day from strength to strength it has
forgotten that there are many many poor people which have been
left behind. The benefit of the growth of a nation have not been
passed out to the poor rural areas where there is despair.
Al-Marif Trust with the help of philanthropists has been working
among the poor for many years now. We are working to help Old
Men and Women, Widows, destitute, orphans and poor in
general.
At this juncture, we request you to help us whole heartedly to
continue this endeavor to help build a strong, just nation.

Tailoring
Teaching Women Tailoring and Garment Technology is giving them a new life of dignity.
Most women in rural areas do not have access to education in their young years. They are
married of early and expect their husbands to provide for them. As is being observed in
rural areas and poorer sections of society in particular, when the husband either dies or
deserts the women or has an illness because of which he is not able to earn or is
handicapped is some accidents, the women of the house is now on her own to support
her family.
In these circumstances it is very helpful to the women who have some kind of a skill to live
a life of dignity.
3
TailoringWhen a women can earn a living with dignity she will not adopt a wrong way of life,
become a thief, beg from her relatives and friends. This way empowering women
through garment technology will give them dignity in life.

Education
Among the poor section of society in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka it has been observed th
that students study upto 10 standard and then discontinue studies. The students do not th
have the means to study further as the education upto 10 standard was in the local
language and sponsored by the government schemes. Since the medium of instruction
being the local language and financial constraints prevent the students to study further.
5
EducationThese young boys and girls have to do jobs like helpers, cleaners etc. This creates a feeling of
frustration, inferiority and helplessness among the youth.
The PUC college was started by the trust to help these students by providing them free
education and food.
Computer education is easily accessible to the urban youth. Young students staying in th th
villages and studying in 8 standard to 10 standard have no access to computers. Al-Marif
Trust reaches out to these poor students by conducting computer courses in summer
vacation close to their villages.
These computer classes have given the poor village students a boost to their morale and
made them confident to compete with their urban counterparts.
6
Al-Marif Trust reaches out to those poor who have been forgotten by the world. There are
men and women who are too old to do any kind of work, too weak to step out of their
homes, too poor to be counted in any survey, abandoned by the family who cannot support
every individual, too many mouths to feed and only one earning member in the family and
due to illiteracy cannot get any help from the government schemes with no guidance.
Al-Marif Trust tries its best to provide food grains and other nutrition to these people.

Health
Al-Marif Trust members were moved by the plight of the poor
people especially in rural areas who are suffering with all kinds of
ailments with no access to medical care. Poverty, illiteracy and the
commercialization of the medical industry has resulted in poor
people suffering their ailments with nobody to help them. Al-Marif
Trust organizes health camps for these people. They are brought to
one centre where doctors of various specialties’ conduct a health
check-up. Free medicines are distributed as required.

Legal Cell
Expanding its areas of service to common people Al Ma’rif Trust has initiated a
legal service division. After a prolonged deliberation and consultation those
responsible for running the Trust formed a Free Legal Service Cell.
At a time when framing false cases against innocent people, who are unable to
bear the expenditures the long process of justice imposes upon them, helping the
innocent victims in getting justice becomes a great humanitarian cause. While
laying the foundation stone of the Cell this fact was present in the minds of the
founders.
14
Legal Cell
Among the main objectives of the Cell is providing free legal consultation to the
poor and the falsely framed people. The Cell will also bear the expenses—which
include advocates fee, transport charges in the case hearings are scheduled at
distant locations, and other expenses. It will also conduct legal awareness programs
at different places both in local languages and English.
For the time being, the services of the Cell will be available for those in Chittoor
district of Andhra Pradesh. In future, however, the Trust intends to extend its legal
services throughout India.
