February 15, 2012, Greetings Fellow Classmates! It’s been nearly 40 years since we graduated from La Mirada High School. Those years were filled with some unforgettable memories. Please join us to “Reconnect, Reminisce, and Reunite” with your classmates once again during our upcoming reunion! This letter is your official invitation to our 40-Year Reunion for Class of 1972 alumni and their guests. your enjoyment beginning with an ICEBREAKER BARBECUE on Friday night, MAIN EVENT on Saturday night, and concluding with a FAREWELL BREAKFAST on Sunday morning. This Welcome Package will provide you with lots of information about our reunion to assist you with selecting, registering, and making payment via our brand new LMHS Class of 1972 website at http://www.lmhs72.com or by mail/email using the attached forms. It also includes information on hotel accommodations and special discounted rates at the Radisson Suites Hotel in Buena Park, the location of our Saturday and Sunday events.

II. Reunion Information
This fact sheet will provide you with general information to assist you with planning, budgeting, and having a great time during our 40-year reunion!
1. REUNION DATES: Friday, October 19 - Sunday, October 21, 2012
2. SELECTING REUNION EVENTS AND MAKING PAYMENT: We created a special website just for the
Class of 1972! You will now be able to exchange messages and photos with your classmates, participate in forums, and post your updated biographical information, among other interesting features. Moreover, you will also be able to register, select events, and make payment for our upcoming reunion online.
To sign-up and gain access our website, go to http://www.lmhs72.com, and click “JOIN HERE” as shown below by the “red” arrow:
You will then see a screen to provide your name, contact information, biographical information, and photos (This information will also be used to register you if you decide to attend our reunion, as well as to prepare a bio sheet for our “Getting Re-Acquainted” booklet described below). You will also need to provide your email address and a password to use when you log in for future access. After signing in, you can select and pay for
each reunion event described below for yourself and any guest by clicking the link “Reunion Events”. It’s that simple and easy to use! No forms to fill out, and completely paperless! If you do NOT have access to the internet, please mail or email the attached forms, including a check or money

For those mailing their reunion documents, the REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT FORM is required to identify you and your guest coming to our reunion, determine which events that you have selected, and track payment for each event. The BIO-SHEET/CURRENT PHOTO is requested to assist us with preparing a “Getting Re-acquainted” booklet, which will be distributed electronically to all classmates at no additional charge prior to the reunion.
3. REUNION ACTIVITIES, EVENTS, AND TICKET PRICES: We recognize that today’s economy may make
it financially difficult to attend our reunion. As a result, your Reunion Committee has controlled costs and minimized ticket prices by doing all the work itself (rather than use a professional and costly reunion vendor), negotiating favorable rates with the hotel and other vendors, and obtaining donated funds and services whenever possible. While we hope that you can attend ALL three scheduled events, we are also offering a menu of choices described in the next section below. If you are unable to attend all three events, your Reunion Committee strongly recommends that you attend our Main Event on Saturday night.
The Reunion Committee needs to start paying for the venue, photography, dinner, music, and other costs. In an effort to encourage early registration to generate funds, we are offering an Early Bird discounted rates for you and your guest for Friday and Saturday night events if you pay on or before May 1, 2012. The following provides you with our reunion schedule, activities, and ticket prices. Again, please take advantage of the Early Bird discounts!
• REUNION EVENTS AND TICKET PRICES
Friday, October 19, 2012: “ICEBREAKER” BARBECUE from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm
(Daytime Event: Golfing at the La Mirada Golf Course, tee time at 10:00 am)
Daytime Activities: Enjoy GOLFING? If so, bring or rent your clubs, and join some of your classmates on Friday, October 19 at the 18-hole La Mirada Golf Course (Tee time begins at 10:00 am.) The cost is only $45 per person and includes a golf cart. Tickets can be purchased online or payment can be mailed directly to Debra. Note: We will be contacting all golfers to obtain the names of any paid-for guests (for
pairings), and ask whether or not they need to rent clubs. This information must be provided 10 days
before the event.
Evening Activities: ”ICEBREAKER” BARBECUE
Where: La Mirada Golf Course (at the Alicante Room outdoor patio area) 15501 E. Daytime Activities: When was the last time you visited the campus at La Mirada High School? Many classmates have expressed interest in a CAMPUS TOUR of La Mirada High School to see if it looks the same as it did forty years ago. The details of the tour and other daytime events are being planned and will be announced at a later date.
Evening Activities: MAIN EVENT

What: Full breakfast (free for hotel guests, and $15 for non-hotel guests): Selection of chilled fruit juices,
sliced fresh seasonal fruits & berries, freshly baked muffins, danish and croissants, bagels with crèam cheese, butter and preserves, raison granola and cold cereals, regular and nonfat milk, fluffy scrambled eggs, apple wood smoked bacon & country link sausage, breakfast potatoes, coffee (regular and decaf), and assorted hot teas.

4. HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS: Your Reunion Committee has reserved a block of 30 single King or double
bed suites at the Radisson Suite Hotel in Buena Park at a special rate of $89 plus 12.07% city occupancy tax (and we may be able to increase the number of suites if necessary). The rate is based on maximum occupancy of 4 people, and any additional person up to 6 will be charged an additional $10 per day per person. The rates include a complementary daily full breakfast and complimentary parking. Check-in at 3:00 pm, and check-out by 12:00 noon (Depending on availability, the hotel may be able to grant an earlier check-in time or later check-out time. We won’t know until later this year, and will keep you posted).
Suites are limited, so lock in the low rate by reserving now! 5. REUNION MEMORY BOOK: Your Reunion Committee received a fantastic deal with a vendor that will
produce a hard-bound, 8”X11”, 30-page (double-sided) color Memory Book for only $23.25 (includes shipping), which will feature formal and candid photos from our reunion. You can order your Memory Book online or by mail.
6. MISSING CLASSMATES: Attached is a list of missing classmates we’ve been unable to locate. If you have
information, please contact any of our reunion committee members.
7. PHOTOS: We’re looking for photos to create a Getting Re-Acquainted booklet (to be sent to all classmates
electronically at no charge) and slide show during our main reunion event. You can upload these photos at our reunion website at http://www.lmhs72.com or mail/email to Debra Roe.
8. ADVERTISEMENTS AND DONATIONS: Advertise your business or send a message to classmates by
purchasing a business card-size ad ($50). Or you can make a donation for our reunion at any amount.
9. ACCESSIBILITY: All facilities for this reunion are wheelchair accessible.
10. FACEBOOK: Did you know that the Class of 72 has a very active Facebook group for over two years? To
date, we have about 155 alumni (and growing) who are members of a Facebook group page dedicated solely for our class called “La Mirada High School Class of 1972.” If you have not yet joined Facebook, we invite you to do so and join our group!
