In addition, all visitors to the Cottage are invited to join Holme Sunday School – an all age, non-denominational service held every Sunday at 10.30am. Holmfirth is 3 miles from the Cottage easily accessible by public transport. The home of Last of the Summer Wine, there are lots of things to see and do from film location spotting to visiting the numerous tea shops and gift shops. In addition, Holmfirth houses a swimming pool. The Peak National Park was designated in 1951 as the first National Park in Britain and is a magnet for people from across the world. The Guide Cottage is set within one of the 109 Conservation Areas which ensures that our beautiful view will be preserved for many years to come. Nearby can be found Black Hill and the Pennine Way together with Digley Reservoir – a beautiful 5 mile walk. The Cottage comprises: Downstairs

• A small porch area

• Large fully equipped kitchen (electric cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer, cutlery, crockery and pots/pans)

• Shower room, washbasin and toilet

• Lounge/dining room with a large 18-seat table perfect for activities/meal times.

Upstairs

• 1 bunk-bed room sleeping 8

• 1 bunk-bed room sleeping 6

• 1 leader room sleeping 2 leading to a further bedroom sleeping 2

• 1 bathroom (3 washbasins, 1 toilet)

Unfortunately, the Cottage is not wheelchair accessible. The Cottage is centrally heated. It has a small, private grassed area to the front of the property with a picnic table and benches. Parking is on the road at the rear of the property.

The Guide Cottage in Holme is the perfect place to relax, unwind and to get to know your friends much better. Set in one of the conservation areas of the Peak National Park, imagine opening your curtains to unspoilt landscape for as far as the eye can see. With many walks and cycle routes on your doorstep, the Cottage is a must for any outdoor enthusiast. But… it is also a great venue for group residentials – perfect throughout the year. Snuggle up in front of the fire when there’s snow all around, be surrounded by lambs in the Spring or appreciate the fantastic views from the garden in the Summer. The Cottage’s unique characteristics have been maintained whilst ensuring that it meets the current requirements and expectations of today. The fully-equipped kitchen ensures easy catering for 18 people whilst the large table in the lounge provides a wonderful, unique opportunity for all residents to sit together for meals/activities.
