Patents have been applied for on these new hoods and combmatlons 01 lights and hoods. They are designed to enhance Visibility ofthe Baader-Brown patented Signal lights In ways which standardnon recessed lights can never achIeve.

In actual operation. the Baader-Brown hood proves to surpass thebenefits denved by a minimum of 3" black framing required In manystales.

Setback to the face of the lens is a full 4' " and the angular Inclination (wrap around) of the shield is effective 2" below the honzonfalcenterline. ThiS assures a high-contrast black background for theviewer and prevents "false flashing" from strong ambient light asthe vehicle travels through wooded areas or nighttime traffiC forexample. (False flashing IS caused by pnsmatlc effects of light penetratmg the lens from side angles.) False flashing IS dangerous as itmay mask a true signal as well as create a false signal.
