Cheryl’s Column
Hi Everyone,
We have spent the last couple of months
enjoying some beautiful sunny weather and
also some torrential rain so we really don’t
know what to be doing with ourselves at the
moment! We have tried to keep our residents
entertained whatever the weather with lunch
in the garden or hot chocolate with
marshmallows in the lounges watching the
rain pour down, everyone seems happy with
both!

Entertainment …. This month we have had visits from some
new entertainer’s in the home:

Cuddly Cavies.....
In July we had a visit from Diana and her
very cuddly guinea pigs, our residents
absolutely loved them and fed them salad for
their lunch and they just sat quietly on their
laps loving being petted! Pictured above
Sheila & Eileen enjoy their visitors.
A Very Special Birthday ….
On 26
th June resident Gladys M celebrated
her 104th
birthday. She spent it quietly with
the staff and enjoyed her beautiful birthday
cake made by our cook.
And Another Coming Up….
On 23
rd July our resident Sarah will also be
celebrating an amazing birthday, she will be
103years old and is looking forward to her
special day very much! Sarah is still deciding
what she would like us all to dress up for on
her day!

Giant Badminton …... We have bought a giant badminton set which
has bright red rackets and a super giant
shuttlecock which makes it easy for our
residents to see, everyone loves it and some
of our resident are actually quite good at it!

Dress Up As An OAP Day.....
On 16th June we helped celebrate our
resident Gladys’s 104th
birthday by holding a
dress as an OAP day to raise some funds for
Friends of the Home. As you can see from
above our staff threw themselves into it as
always and we had a variety of ‘old ladies’
working in the home that day! We raised
£26.00 to boost our funds and had a great
deal of fun as well!
Fishing for Ducks……..
We had a lovely afternoon fishing for ducks
today! Pictured above Jean (top) and Iris see
what they can catch!
Power Chair For Sale …...
If anyone is interested we have an electric
power chair for sale which has been donated
to us. It is a Quantum Sport 600 and is in
good condition. You are more than welcome
to make us an offer and all proceeds will go
to Friends of the Home. If you would like to
know more please speak to Cheryl, one of the
seniors or myself. Can be seen and tried at
the home just ask when you come in.
We have great pleasure in welcoming our
new members of staff: Megan & Katy.
We hope you all enjoy working with us here
