WOW What a way to end
Term 3 by having our third
annual colour run
Once again I would like to
extend my thanks to the
wonderful helpers on the day
who made it possible Without
you all it would not happen
The kids had an absolute ball
the smiles on their faces said it
all The students are the
reason we teachers are here
and it makes me so happy to
organise an event that
brings a little colour to their
world
The rain held off for the day
thankfully The wind
challenged us making for a
very colourful playground by
the end of the event
Thank you Mr Touzell for being
our wonderful MC (Master of
Ceremonies) on the day and
a huge help leading up to the
event
Thank you Gavin for the ice
blocks and organising the
blow up finish line Certainly a
popular addition to the colour
run this year and something
we will have to ensure we
keep in next years event
I am already excited for the
2020 event
Simone Henry
Colour Run Coordinator
Lightning McQueen was here to witness all the fun and ended up just as colourful as the kids
2020 Enrolments The Enrolment of Students in NSW Government Schools policy is in
place to ensure that every student has a place at their local school
The enrolment cap is the number of students that can be enrolled at a
school based on the schoolrsquos permanent classroom buildings The
enrolment cap for Bilambil PS is 300 students
Within the enrolment cap a number of enrolment places (the buffer)
must be kept aside for the likely number of local students who will
need to enrol during the year The buffer for Bilambil PS is 16 students
This means that we cannot consider any non-local enrolments at
Bilambil PS until our numbers are below 284 students Currently our
enrolment number for 2020 is 348 students Subsequently it may take
a number of years for our enrolment numbers to be sufficiently low
enough to consider non-local enrolments again
If your child is already enrolled and your residential address is non-
local this revised policy does not affect you Only parents seeking to
enrol a new non-local student will be affected
From now on parents planning to enrol their child at Bilambil PS will be
asked to complete the 100-point residential address check to confirm
they live within the schoolrsquos designated intake area This means they
will need to provide documents to verify their childrsquos current address
IMPORTANT This revised policy does not impact on the enrolment
status of any student already enrolled at Bilambil PS
Get to know our school staff Were all here
to help Our professional university-educated teachers encourage students to
develop a love of learning and a desire to succeed They maintain
the highest integrity and concern for your childrsquos wellbeing

management of our school If you would like to speak to the principal

Mr Davisrsquos Story of the Week The Cookie Parable
A young lady was waiting in the airportrsquos departure area
pending her flight home After realizing there was a delay she
bought a small bag of chocolate chip cookies to enjoy while
she waited She made her way to the VIP lounge to sit and
relax She sat down in an armchair to enjoy her cookies and
read her book
Beside her sat a pleasant young man reading his book The
bag of cookies between them Neither spoke The young lady
took her first cookie Then much to her surprise the young man
also took a cookie He said nothing She said nothing but was
clearly bothered For each cookie she took he did the same
Again no words or looks were exchanged but her anger grew
This continued until there was only one cookie left
Then the man took the last cookie and divided in half ndash leaving
her half in the bag
Well that was it She was so infuriated and bothered by his lack
of consideration that she packed up her things and moved
Soon she boarded her flight took her seat and began to settle
in for her trip ndash still very upset by this young manrsquos lack of
manners
She went into her purse and she felt her heart sink There in her
purse was HER bag of cookies ndash unopened and untouched
She was so ashamed of how she responded and was further
upset by the realization that it was too late to make amends
and apologise
This young man had shared HIS cookies without saying a word
He even gave her half of his last one He wasnrsquot upset or
worried about her actions He gave without condition or
feelings of anger or bitterness

Every single student has been so engaged and eager to
participate All students are striving to be great classmates and
members of our school by being fair being safe and belonging
We are continuing our study of Dinosaurs and have been using
our research skills to uncover more interesting facts about
Dinosaurs and the similarities they share with animals alive
today Students have been working very hard with their groups
to create Dinosaur posters to share with Stage 1 and showcase
at our Dinosaur Morning Tea
Did you know the biggest Dinosaur
discovered in Australia is called
Titanosaur and was discovered on the
outskirts of Eromanga in south-west
Queensland in 2007

12G loves hands on exploring and learning especially during
STEM activities when we become scientists We have been
working in small groups to design and construct a Balloon Power
Rocket using only 3 items Students used string balloon and
straws to make the rocket and then we got to race them on our
runway Students were surprised when most of the rockets flew
differently to how they predicted
