1, the bronze remain for the team of Palace-2 Moscow. The team composition of the

winners was: Oleg Bezrukavnikov, Vladislav Sizov, Alla Kozenets, Koba Chitiashvili,

Ekaterina Granovskaya.

ITALIAN CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP FOR BOYS AND GIRLS

UNDER 16

The city of Porretta Thermae, a thermal center in the Region Emilia Romagna, not far from Bologna, hosted last week the Italian championship for boys and girls Under 16. The total number of players was 805.

GM VIKTOR KORCHNOI AND GM ALEXANDRA KOSTENIUK

ARE THE SWISS CHAMPIONS’2011

GM Viktor Korchnoi and GM Alexandra Kosteniuk won the Open Chess

Championship of Switzerland. This is fifth title for the legendary veteran Korchnoi

after 1982, 1984, 1985 и 2000.

The first place in the tournament took Christian Bauer (FRA) with 7.5 points, the

second place was for Andrei Sokolov (FRA) with personal result of 7 points, third-

for Viktor Korchnoi – 6.5 points. The title of the Champion remain for GM Korchnoi,

because the first two GMs are playing for France. GM Alexandra Kosteniuk has

Swiss-Russian dual citizenship.

points. GM Pavel Smirnov and IM Jakov Geller finished on the shared second place

Lev Polugaevsky Memorial is a qualifier for the Russian Cup’ 2011.
