NEWSLETTER 18th April 2019 Dear Parents, Welcome back to the final term of this academic year. The children have made a great start once again with their new themes. With Ramadan coming up, this will be a quieter term event-wise and we will focus on ensuring that students complete the coverage of the curriculum and are ready to move up to the next year group. Having said that, we are holding Open English lessons for all classes during the week beginning 28th April. These are an opportunity for you to see how English is taught in your child’s class. The lessons are at the start of the day to make it as convenient as possible, although you may need to just wait outside the classroom until the register has been taken. This year we have already held open Maths, Science and PE lessons and we hope that you will find the English lessons just as informative and enjoyable. This week you should have received a Ramadan letter alongside this newsletter. Please read this very carefully and particularly be aware that we will close at 1.00pm during Ramadan and there will be no After-Care available. Thank you to those of you who have already completed the questionnaire regarding a School Iftar. I will collate the information on Sunday and then confirm arrangements early next week. Thank you very much to everyone who has volunteered to help. I will contact you over the course of next week to make arrangements. Some people indicated that they could help but did not put their name or number. If you are interested in helping and have not heard from me by the end of next week, please let the admin team know either by email or calling in and then I will get in touch with you. I am very keen for anybody who wishes to help to be involved. We will also be supporting a Ramadan initiative through ‘Education Above All’, further information to follow. As the weather heats up, please can I remind you that children should bring their hats to school every day and wear these when they are outside. If they do not have their hats their play will be limited to shaded areas only. You may also wish to apply sun cream to your child before school. Please also ensure that your child has a water bottle in school at all times as it is very important for them to stay hydrated, with the exception of older pupils who may choose to fast during Ramadan. Have a great weekend enjoying this gorgeous weather before it gets too hot!!  NEWSLETTER 18th April 2019

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to the final term of this academic year.

Tri-series Basketball Fixture  Very well done to all Year 5 and 6 basketball                   competitors, who played a brilliant friendly game this               week here at King's, against RGS Guildford Qatar. The                 event was part of the tri-series fixtures – an initiative                   set-up at the start of the year between King's College,                   Royal Guildford School & Sherborne Qatar, to increase               participation and friendly competitiveness through         games. 🤾 ♂ ⛹ ♀
