A day in the life…‘I really like working there. The work’s quite hard and I’m very tired when I go home at the end of the day, but it keeps me fit. I get fruit and vegetables from the storeroom and bring them up and put them on the shelves. I work there on Friday evenings and all day Saturdays. I start work on Friday evenings at five o’clock and finish at seven o’clock and on Saturdays I start work at seven o’clock, an hour before it opens, and finish at four o’clock. I have a coffee break at half past ten and lunch from twelve o’clock to one o’clock. I usually have lunch in the staff canteen but sometimes James and I go out and we have lunch at a fast-food restaurant in the shopping centre or at a café. James is one of my friends. He goes to the same school as me. We have a good time and it’s a good way to get some extra money. I get £5.50 an hour so that makes £55 a week. I don’t like getting up early on Saturdays, but on Sundays I stay in bed late and get up at about ten o’clock!’Nathan Walker, 16.
