MARCH 2015
PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
I would like to first say that it was great seeing so
many people at the After-Christmas Dinner and
meeting. Thanks again to Jack Swaney for making
the arrangements for us.
Every day we are getting closer
to Spring and the re-appearance
of our antique vehicles. This year,
let’s all try to participate in more
of the activities planned by the
Club. I am going to continue to
emphasize how much fun the
day trips and the overnight trips
are. It’s amazing what we can
see traveling only short distances
from home.
Stay warm and see you at the March meeting!

On February 8, 2015, President Mike Quinn called the meeting to order following the Pledge of
Allegiance.
Thanks to Jack Swaney for arranging the after Christmas party with assistance from Jennie and
Ken Barker. President Quinn inquired if there were any corrections or additions to the minutes of
the January 11, 2015 meeting. There were none. Jennie Barker motioned to accept the minutes
and Ann Quinn seconded. Treasurer Jack Swaney read the treasurer’s report. Current cash bal-
ance is $7,494.50. Pat O'Neill made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report and Ken Barker
seconded.

gery. Mike Quinn is free of Hep C. Joan Artzberger had cataract surgery with the procedure on
her other eye scheduled. Jackie Sheerer fell on the ice while delivering meals on wheels and
cracked her ankle.

Mike Coco reported that 19 rooms have been scheduled for the retreat at Walnut Creek. If di-
rections are needed, contact Steve Illsley or Mike Coco. Bring a snack, puzzles and/or games.
Daryl Elliott reported no progress on the flea market 2015. One idea put forth was to have the
flea market during the June car show. Daryl Elliott will investigate this possibility.
Steve Illsley’s trip September 14-18 will be to Michigan. Antique cars only. Let Steve know if you
plan to attend.
Diane Otto reported that samples of club apparel from the new vendor will be displayed at the
March meeting. A clearance sale will be held for the remaining old stock.
Pat O’Neill reported that the spring seminar to discuss vehicle maintenance will be March 14,
2015 at an auto body shop in Evans City. Meeting time will be 10:00 a.m. at the body shop or at
Al Zamba’s. Decision on the final meeting location will be found elsewhere in this newsletter.
Lunch will be provided. Daryl Elliott moved that the club purchase the lunches, and Steve Illsley
seconded. The motion passed. Notify Pat O’Neill prior to March 7 if you plan to attend. After
the seminar, a visit will be made to Al and Mary Zamba’s car collection.
2015 rosters were handed out. Pat O’Neill will have these at the next few meetings, but the last
chance to get a roster will be at the June car show. After that, anyone requesting a roster will
pay the $3.00 mailing fee.

Jack Swaney’s 1940 Ford Restoration Project
The first owner of this 1940 Ford Coupe was Bill Swaney's aunt. He acquired it from her in 1963 with about 31,000 miles on it. It now has 35,963 miles. Jack took the car apart 15 years ago. He has the original bill of sale for $600 and the log book with all the gas and other costs it took to operate the car. She got the car in late 1939 after her father passed away. Her mother bought the car and would pay her the expense to operate the car every year in exchange for driving her around. The log book has a total for each year. Jack Swaney is currently working on a complete restoration. Look for more next month.
Diane Otto will show samples of new NHHAC logo merchandise at the
March meeting. You will also have the opportunity to purchase older
merchandise at discounted prices.
