NHS Education for Scotland The Knowledge Network:
Shared Space
April 2010
Shared Space Overview
The Shared Space is a collaborative tool that is available within The Knowledge Network.
The Shared Space aims to bring together both tacit and explicit information. Within the Shared Space there are communities which provide various areas of functionality. These communities tend to be established groups of professionals or people working on one particular area of work.
Some of these communities go on and develop into ‘Community of Practice (CoP)’ which have a common sense of purpose and agree to work together. You can access a ‘(CoP) Toolkit’ from The Knowledge Network/ My Community Space which provides guidance on developing and maintaining a CoP and makes reference to areas of functionality within the Shared Space that can support this development.
