HALTS COVATTI’S CHARGE FOR WORLD AND EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFICATION

We would like to send our best wishes out to Nico Covatti who was recently injured in a track crash in the UK, Nico badly broke his arm, wrist and hand and severely bruised his back in the accident, leaving him to reflect on what might have been.

2017 was due to be a big year for Nico as he joined Revolution Speedway to start his campaign for both World and European Championship qualification for 2018. The early qualifying rounds for both events were to be held at his home tracks of Lonigo and Terenzano in Italy so he was confident of success and progressing to the latter stages of the competition.

Nico was excited to start testing with Revolution Speedway and was looking forward to having the Race Team behind him in his bid to race at the sports highest level.

The Race Team were fully prepared with 3 brand new complete JAWA Factory race bikes and on the road to Italy for their first full test session with Nico when they got the call that he had been injured.

“It was a long drive home to the UK when we heard what had happened, we are absolutely gutted for Nico, we know how important this year was to him and how excited he was to be our rider in 2017. We feel there was a real chance that he could have qualified for either or both of the major championships.

We have all of the equipment ready for him on his return including his brand new race suit and exclusive Red TCX boots! It is a long season and we look forward to getting Nico on track a little later in the year to challenge for his National Championship and other high level European competitions.”
