Program(s)/Tools: Adobe InDesign and PhotoshopObjectives: To create an effective layout for a n event flier.
Process: The first thing I did, was use textboxes for the words at the top. I hovered over the corner to tilt and match the tilts of each one. I used this skill
throughout the whole project. Next, I had to make the body textbox not square. I used the Direct selection tool to accomplish this task. I used it again for the
image. Next, I changed the background to black, then used the rectangle tool to make the white part. Last, I put the logo in Photoshop, changed it the
greyscale, then inverted the colors.

Program(s)/Tools: Adobe PhotoshopObjectives: To showcase photoshop and color scheme understanding
Process: I took the photo at about 5:30pm outside my apartment complex. I had the subject turn toward the light and gave her lead room in the bricks.
In photoshop, I adjusted the colors to look cooler for winter. Then, I put a black border around the photo. Next, using the pen tool, I made the triangles
and changed the hypotenuse to a curve. Then, I put the quote in individual textboxes and rasterized it and fit it to the bricks.

Description: A brochure promoting the concept of choosing happiness. Course/Instructor: Comm 130 Section 05 - Cory Kerr
Program(s)/Tools: Adobe Indesign and IllustratorObjectives: To learn how to create a brochure with a new company logo.
Process: The first thing I did was design my logo in Illustrator. Next, I created some accent arrows. Then, I created the body text to go on the inside. Next, I
folded paper to figure out how I wanted my brochure to fold. Finally, I created my design in InDesign. I used guides to know where my folds would be. I used the rectangle tool and the direct selection tool to create the teal triangles and then made the textboxes on top. Last, I inserted my images, logo, and accent
arrows to finish the layout.
LetterheadDate: April 5, 2014
Description: Letterhead for a design company.Course/Instructor: Comm 130 Section 05 - Cory Kerr
Program(s)/Tools: Adobe Indesign and IllustratorObjectives: To create effective letterhead for a design company.
Process: For the logo, I created a circle, then another circle within. On the inside circle, I changed it to “no fill” and gave it a thicker stroke. Then, I
expanded the inside stroke circle, then used the pathfinder tool to cut it out of the circle. Next, I used text to create the “N.” Then, I changed it into a shape and
moved the parts around to distort it. I then cut that out as well. Then, I made it white and placed it inside a shape and used the pen tool to alter it. Last, I
created another shape at the bottom and added my contact information.
