Dx Hyperdynam State / Massive Burn

Cardiac Output in severly burned Pt. – 1st Dcrease CO for 24 – 48 hrs. Then Increase in CO

Caloric need 25 kcal/kg/day + (30 kcal x % burn)

Protein need: 1 gm/kg/day + (3 gm x % burn)Burn wounds use glucose in an obligatory

fashion.

DX Study Mult Trauma / 35% TBSA Burn

Fluid Requir 30% TBSA Flame Burn

Parkland formula: For burns >= 20% -- 4 cc/kg x % burn in 1st 24

hrs. ½ should be given in 1st 8 hrs. Use LR in 1st 24 hrs.

So – 30% 4 x 30 x 70 kg = 8,400 cc in 24 hrs or 4,200 cc in 1st 8 hrs.
