2021 VETERANS SERVICES

In May we took the Vets pizza and goodies from Costco on our regular brunch day which was the fourth Wednesday. Another fourth Wednesday Al Vigil and Fred Camuñez took out a hot Mexican dinner with desert for the Vets at the hospital. On the 4th of July, Earl Woodson and Lou Cobb will be doing a burger and dogs cookout, with all the trimming, for the vets and staff at the hospital.

Our Lodge#2117 is leading the District in the “Welcome Home” and “Homeless Vet” programs. Lodge#2117 is very active in every Elks National Veterans program, and our THANKS go out to ALL our members for their help, time and donations.

And a Special thanks to Barbara Harrington for securing Elk's Grants

Wine'ers RV Club!! After numerous COVID19 created cancellations

of our RV club rallies, May 4, 5, 6 found 10 Livermore Elks members, spouses

and friends gathered in the Gold Country. Wine’ers RV Club Rallied at Jackson

Rancheria. With everyone confirming having received their vaccinations, masks

were removed and … VOILA! We still recognized each other! With our RVs cir-

cled like the pioneers once did, out came the lawn chairs, food and adult bev-

erages. What fun to reconnect, swapping tales of the near forgotten pre-Covid times on the

road together, plus updates of family, plus much needed humor. Some golf, more shopping, some

winners at the casino, and beautiful weather made the gathering extra special.

President Doris Davis announced the next rallies to be: July 23-26 Black Oak Casino RV Park in Tu-

olumne, followed by September 21-24 Merced Elks RV Park. Next year’s gatherings will be an-

nounced shortly.

Interested in joining a fun group? Be sure you’re a Livermore 2117 Elk and have an RV. I have

club membership forms. Email me at: [email protected].
