International Mission – “Because of Grace” Last week, the headline question was “What’s New? What’s needed?” Kurt delivered a compelling answer to “What’s Needed?” on March 2nd– an appropriate understanding of how God’s grace given to us, leads to our wanting to share the news of that grace around the world – next door, and outside our nation’s borders. Watch the Table, our website, and displays around our building also. Today’s focus is the two distinct works in Mexico. Evangelism and strengthening churches in Mexico is the work of our missionary Victorino Calderon and his wife Silvia, thru the Kairos bible institute. We provide financial support, prayer support, and participate in annual gatherings of many churches and medical mission thru volunteers that act as our ambassadors by travelling to join over 100 representatives of many churches, and celebrate the successes of each year, including graduates of the intensive bible study program, new churches and the many souls saved for eternity each year. Evangelism and care for orphans at the children’s home Ciudad de Angeles, has Grace Chapel’s involvement in multiple ways. We provide general funding, act as one of several “anchor” congregations, and provide a member for the board of directors. Many families at Grace Chapel participate additionally in the child sponsorship program with their love, and their long-term commitment to financial support. Many more Grace Chapel members and friends participate in annual weeklong trips to show God’s love to the children under Ciudad’s permanent care, with time in spiritual study, social connections, life skill development, and physical maintenance of the property. Next week: India March 23rd: our annual collection to fund all the international programs we support. Our goal is $75,000 (five times our average weekly giving).
