What a beautiful reminder that what we experience here on earth is all temporary... it sure helps us to
organize our priorities! God has blessed our family so... what an adventure being here with the Lord by
our side.
Abbies BaptismWe had the joy of seeing Abbie, now 16 years old, decide on her ownto be baptized at El Camino church in San Cristobal. Dan Anderson,
our Pastor and fellow AMG Missionary, officiated along with Pastor
Fontaine Green, who leads our Sunday night english service there. We
love you so much Abbie and were so pleased to see you express your
love for the Lord and the joy He brings you!
Such a Privilege to Serve the Lord...Every time we feel overwhelmed by serving here in Guatemala, the Lord brings us back to our clear
calling and helps us to remember what a great privilege it is to serve a God that can do far more than we
could ever even imagine! We are in the midst of tremendous need, armed with the unique answer to it
all... Jesus Christ. The suffering we see all around us here on earth is temporary... the refreshingreminder... we have an eternity ahead of us!
2 Corinthians 4:16-18
Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man
is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by
day.For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, isworking for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of
glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but atthe things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are
temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Advancing the Ministry...We made significant advances this year at AMG Guatemala, despite the economic crisis and challenges
with our budget at all levels.
Our organizational structure is now complete and balanced with
both missionaries and Guatemalan leaders in key positionsmanaging our operation here. Our leadership team includes a
Director of Finance, Administration, Education, Child
Protection/Restoration, Public Relations, Human Resources,
Results and Monitoring, Teams, Facilities, Spiritual/Pastoral and
Health Services. We have an amazing leadership team and now
have opportunities for advancement at all levels of the
organization.
An intense evaluation of all our work has been done and we have a solid understanding of our
strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats here in Guatemala. A 5 year strategic plan was
developed, implemented and is now being executed. Our strategy includes enhanced participation of
parents, the community and the local church, a strong emphasis on child protection and restoration,
better vocational preparation, a strong connection with the job market/employment opportunities and
better contextualization within each of our 28 communities. (our programs match the needs of the
community).
A school for parents has been started and we are teaching parents important and practical life courses.
We have joined an alliance of christian ministries throughout Latin America and the Caribbean and
are sharing and learning from each other. Our hope is to be an agent of change
throughout the region.
Children throughout our program (many of our 8,000 students) have memorized 20
key bible verses this year and received a brand new bible as a result! This was done
through a partnership with a Guatemalan organization called SuperAventuras.
(Super Adventures)
Many improvements were done throughout our system including new playgrounds,
facility upgrades, painting projects and many new libraries.
All 550 employees of AMG Guatemala received job-relevant training throughout the year and 125 are
studying in university on scholarship from AMG. Many have already earned degrees, including our
entire leadership team.
5 new missionary positions were added (provided directly by the Lord!) and are each experts in their
area of responsibility!
