DON DECLARES HIJRAH CALENDAR MANDATORY ON ALL MUSLIMS

M uslims have been urged to

observe adherence to the

Lunar Calendar in the administra-

tion and organization of their indi-

vidual and corporate affairs.

This call was made by Prof. Abdul-

Kareem Hussein at a prayer session

organized by Fountain University,

Osogbo to usher in the 2015/2016

Academic Session. The professor of

Microbiology and Islamic cleric em-

phasized that the adoption of Hi-

jrah calendar by Muslim individuals

and establishments was rather a

divine commandment than recom-

mendation.

tion session held at the directive of

the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Bashir

Ademola Raji to put all affairs of

the university in Allah’s control, the

Chief Imam of the University, Dr.

lossal growth of full accreditation in all its

programmes and Full Operational License

by the National Universities Commission

(NUC) coupled with the passing away of

an academic of international standing,

Prof. Hakeem Ishola Mobolaji required

prayer and thanks-giving”, the Imam said.

The prayer with a segment dedicated to

the souls of Late Prof. Mobolaji, Dean

College of Management and Social Sci-

ences till his death; Late Engr. Bello,

former Chief Engineer of the university
