Some were husband and wife and some were sealing of children to parents. It always makes me wonder how these ordinances change the lives of those we are doing the work for. I know how incredibly important it is, but how are those lives changed because of our willingness to make the effort to find their names and take them to the temple? Several years ago, I had taken the names of Georg Wagner and his eight children to the temple to be sealed. As we finished the last sealing, I heard in my mind so very clearly the words, I did not have eight children I had nine. The impression was so strong, that upon arriving home, I pulled out my German parish register and looked up the Georg Wagner family. How surprised I was when true to the prompting I had received, the family had nine children not eight. The youngest child was listed as stillborn. I knew that in some countries you do not seal a child that is stillborn and I meant to check if this was the case in Germany. Time passed and I forgot to do this. I had printed the cards for the rest of the family, and so we did those sealings. I immediate- ly submitted the last childs name for the sealing ordinance and we completed the family a few weeks later. I am very sure the voice I heard and the prompting I received was from this loving father Georg Wagner, who was wanting so very much for his entire family to receive the blessings of an eternal family. My dear friends, this work is so important. Our family members who have passed on are de- pending on us to do the ordinances they cannot do for themselves. So many new technological advances are making the joy of family history ever easier to do. We need to grasp and embrace these new opportunities that are coming every week!! Just today, I read that GenealogyBank and Family Search have partnered to bring all of the news- papers that have been digitized available to all of the church members who have an lds account. That is amazing!! There are millions if not billions of records there. What a great addition this will be. Look upon this as a new adventure that will enrich and inspire your life. The South Davis Family History Center is becoming more and more busier, that is so exciting to see. More and more young people are feeling the desire to learn how to do research and find their ancestors!! Let’s keep encouraging and helping them. Kathy Palmer

This last week at the Bountiful Temple, I had the privilege of participating in 38 sealings. Some were husband and wife and some were sealing of children to

parents. It always makes me wonder how these ordinances change the lives of those we are doing the work for. I know how incredibly important it is, but

how are those lives changed because of our willingness to make the effort to find their names and take them to the temple?

I immediate-ly submitted the last childs name for the sealing ordinance and we completed the family a few weeks later. I am very sure the voice I heard and the prompting I received was from this loving father Georg Wagner, who was wanting so very much for his entire family to receive the blessings of an eternal family.

My dear friends, this work is so important. Our family members who have passed on are de-pending on us to do the ordinances they cannot do for themselves. So many new technological advances are making the joy of family history ever easier to do. We need to grasp and embrace these new opportunities that are coming every week!!

Audio File Upload Feature Now Available on Family TreeOctober 3, 2014 By Brad Young

FamilySearch is pleased to announce the new audio files upload fea-ture as part of Memories and also the Memories tab options in Fam-ily Tree. Patrons can now add audio files to FamilySearch, and attach them to their ancestors for others to discover and enjoy.

This new audio feature is supported either via a browser in the Memories tab or Family Tree portions of the FamilySearch site, or via a browser on mobile devices. Title, Description, Upload, Tag, Attach, Details, Albums, Report Abuse, etc., all work the same for Audio files as it does for other Memory types (Photos, Documents, and Stories).

Mobile Devices:Mobile devices by design require two clicks to play an audio file to make sure the user in-tends to download and play audio the file, since a person roaming with a mobile device might be charged a fee if they unintentionally play an audio file. Therefore, you must click an audio file twice to play it. Apple iOS devices will NOT display a volume control or mute button on the browser interface, as Apple has specified that all volume control on their devices is to be done via hardware volume control and mute buttons on the side of iPad and iPhone devices. There has been no testing on Mobile Windows Surface devices, so support on these devices is not guaranteed

Audio File SupportFamily Tree supports two audio file types; m4a and mp3. The maximum audio file size is 15 megabytes. Users may upload audio files through Memories/Audio tab, just as they would upload a photograph or a story on Family Tree.

Audio File UploadsYou can add an audio file by using the Memories navigation menu. Click on the link and a drop down menu will appear. Click Audio to being the upload process.

WHAT WAS THERE is a good example of using Google Maps to show the way places used to look. What Was There allows registered users to upload old images of buildings and landmarks and have them displayed in the place where they were taken. Anyone can explore the map and view the historical images on the map. Enter a city name in the search box or browse the map's placemarks to find images. Click on a placemark to open an image then choose "Google Street View" to see the image placed over current image of a place. http://www.whatwasthere.com/
