Y-PEER KAZAKHSTAN STUDY TOUR TO PETRI-SOFIA

Members of the Y-PEER network from different parts of

the world often meet together to share experiences and learn

from each other about how to further improve the network

on a country level. This year a Y-PEER delegation from

Kazakhstan, consisting of 4 people, enjoyed the learning

process during the study tour held from November 7th -

12th, 2010. The team learned about Y-PEER functioning in

detail through various meetings with key role-players in the

network: PETRI coordinators and fellows, the Bulgaria

Focal Point in Charge, network Focal Points, peer educators,

partner organizations, Y-PEER alumni, and others.

The PETRI Centre in Sofia arranged a comprehensive and

interesting agenda for the delegates. The study tour was an

enriching experience for Y-PEER Kazakhstan. It provided

deep insight to the delegates, and a follow-up meeting of the

national Focal Points in Kazakhstan was conducted where

further work priorities were drafted. These types of tours

should be arranged on a regular basis, as it proved to be an

effective mechanism for progress in the Y-PEER network.
