Sports Award for Fergal Ryan Congratulations to Fergal Ryan of Blackrock, who was
recently presented with the 96FM C103 Sports Award
for June, in association with Rochestown Park Hotel.
Guests at the presentation included County Board
Officers Frank Murphy, Bob Ryan and Jerry O'Sullivan;
as well as Fergal's clubmates, family and friends. A
member of Cork's All-Ireland winning side in 1999,
Fergal also won an All-Star that year. He has also won
two Munster Hurling titles.

Fada series.
Development Squad Success Last weekend was a very successful one for our
Football Development Squads, with the U16s winning
the Munster Final, defeating Tipperary 1-9 to 0-5, while
the second U16 team won the shield final. Meanwhile
the Cork U15 West team beat North Kerry in the final of
the Humphrey Kelleher tournament. At U14 level, Cork
1 and 2 won their sections but were beaten in the
semi-finals by Tipperary 1 and Kerry South
respectively. Cork 3 won the Plate final, defeating Kerry

County Board Report The County Board
meeting of July 19th
heard that the
Committee selecting
the new Minor Hurling
manager has had two
meetings but as yet
has nothing to report.
The outgoing
Intermediate hurling
coach, Pat Kenneally,
had indicated that he
was not willing to
continue, and the
Executive was
instructed to bring a
recommendation to
the next meeting. The
competition’s
structure was also
discussed. Regarding
Senior Hurling
management, clubs
are to submit
proposals by Aug 2nd
which will be sent out
to all clubs and
decided on at the
next meeting on Aug
16th. The meeting
also dealt with
fixtures.

Teen Camp with Cork Hurlers Coiste Oiliúna Chorcaí, in association with Rebel Og, O2
and Mycro is to run a "Cork Senior Hurlers Teen Camp"
for boys aged 13 - 15. The camp will have Cork Senior
hurlers Eoin Cadogan, Brian Murphy and Ronan Curran
