Working method

Traditional tender

3d design is flattened in to 2d drawings in the tender documents. Surveyors uses many resources on markings. The field supervisors keep track of construction process’.

Digital construction

Data saved in one digital model. The contractor can use models for planning and construction. Navigation is based on the model combined with GPS-coordinates. The field supervisors can access model data and do their job in the field.

Digital processThe road model is the center of information. Current versions of data is stored here and there are access for all project members.

Different kinds of extractions can be made from the model.

Dicsipline models are registrered in the database-table MAPS.

TechnologyAll discipline models are saved in one location.

Dicsipline models can be accessed through a number of different platforms and applications such as:

• MicroStation

• Bentley Navigator

• GIS4Mobile (iPad app)

• WWW.

• Etc…

Registrations in the field made by field suporvisors in GIS4Mobile can be accessed in our CAD-programs.

Why?• Reuse of information

• Better design material

• Coordination between disciplines

• Clash detection

• Significantly reduction of drawings in tender documents

• Save time during construction and optimize machine time

• Enable digital calculations for the contractor

• Better design material to reduce downtime for the contractors machinery

BIM is the next level• BIM is:

• Building

• Information

• Model

• 4D time

• 5D price

Storstrøms bridge Old bridge will be replaced by a new bridge

Old bridge would not be able to bear the weight of the trains in the future

ICT-requirements for the Storstrøms bridge• ICT = Information and

Communications Technology

• A great chance for BIM way of thinking

• BIM in operation and maintenance

• 4D simulation

Page 16: NVF 2. sep. 2015 Digital construction - the road towards BIM

BIMRequirements for a very detailed 3D model of the bridge

Requirements for a database to O&M

Page 17: NVF 2. sep. 2015 Digital construction - the road towards BIM

Our dream when it comes to O&M• Physical inspection is

ekstensive

• Automotion with drones could help a lot

• Photo recognition Automatic rapport generation
