R. 3, The Juvenile Accountability Block GrantsAct of 1997, as passed by the House of Representatives on May 8, 1997 (see appendix A). The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), one of five programbureaus in the Office of Justice Programs (OJP), has been delegated the authority to administerthe JAIBG program.The JAIBG program will be managed by the State Relations and Assistance Division (SRAD).One of OJJDPs seven organizational components, SRAD also manages the Formula Grantsprogram under Part B of the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (JJDP) Act of 1974, asamended; the State Challenge Activities program under Part E of the JJDP Act; and theCommunity Prevention Grants program, established under Title V of the JJDP Act. Workingwith the Juvenile Justice Specialist in each States administering agency and the SupervisoryBoard/State Advisory Group, SRAD assists States and territories in the prevention and control ofdelinquency and the improvement of their juvenile justice systems.
