About the book: If you love a gritty UK based drama then this book is an absolute must read as Ex-Copper Joe Clayton has a close call and

goes on the run for his life. It’s cleverly constructed, beautifully thought out and with a main character that the reader can’t help but associate with, it’s a book that really was hard to put down.Add to this a wonderfully woven story, with a tapestry of deceit, shame as well as crime within a small community, it takes a special kind of “sheriff” to come into town to get to the root of the problem whilst worrying about his own survival from the gang that refuse to let him go. About the book: It is to Katia Lief’s credit that she has invented a serial killer with a truly original signature - he only kills once every seven years

That the story is set in the relatively sleepy backwaters of Cape Cod with a class system so Byzantine it is almost comical and that the action takes place between September 3 and September 7 2001 only adds to the reader’s sense of anticipation. The cast of Five Days To Die consists, centrally of the Parker family, Emily and her three children who are staying with her mother while her husband, Will is back in New York working. After Emily’s abduction it is retired FBI profi ler, John Geary who takes up the reins and steers the rather nonchalant local police towards the chillier alternatives. In the ensuing three hundred plus pages there are twists, turns, red herrings and cul-de-sacs as old, unsolved cases are dusted off and re-examined, suspicions heighten then dissolve to nothing and the time ticks steadily down towards the fateful, fi fth day. Lief captures the air of suspense and fear allied to time running out very believably and it is this more than anything else which binds this story together. Why would you even try to get the best suntan

possible? Well as a friend of mine recently said “Sometimes you have to do something bad – just to know you’re alive.”So in the interest of breaking all the rules here are my suntanning tips for a great all over suntan. Lufa and exfoliate: When you are getting a suntan the colour that you get is a result of the skin reacting to the sun. If you have dead skin on top of your good skin then it will be blocking the sun. When exfoliating your skin be sure not to scrub hard, you may want to get the dead skin off but you do not want to hurt your good skin underneath.Lather on the suntan lotion: I know that you may think that using a suntan lotion may be against the idea of getting a dark tan but it is really a requirement. Choose a suntan lotion that has a lot of moisturiser in it with a SPF factor of 8 or 10. Spread it all over, do not miss any spots. Remember that suntan lotion does not do anything for about a half an hour so you must put the sun tan lotion on a little while before you go out.Tan for only one to two hours per day: All you need for a really great tan is one or two hours per day EVERY DAY. It is the consecutive days that give you the tan not the number of hours in one day. Shower after your sun tanning time: Do not over shower. I have failed at this point time and time again by not being patient about my suntanning and by being careless with my suntan lotion.REMEMBER: Your full tan will not show up for four hours or more. When you are out in the sun do not get too concerned about how little colour you are getting. And finally, when tanning your back, cover your head. This is important because when you tan your face it gets enough sun. When you are tanning your back you do not want your face to get yet more sun.So that’s it, all you need to know to get that beautiful tan. Best of luck and above all else...be careful!

More than just a pretty face, the City hosts the biggest marine wildlife park in Europe, an ultra-interactive science museum, an IMAX cinema and an opera house.Cities like London or Paris embody the individual culture of that nation. Cities such as Jerusalem or Istanbul incorporate the constant flux of cultures in mankind. Valencia is one of those. Built by the Romans and taken over by the Visigoths, it later flourished under the Moors (Muslims) for six centuries until it was finally re-built by Christians.Yet, curiously, throughout this process a strong Valencian cultural identity emerged in, once again, the City of Contrasts. What is spectacular, though, is that tradition is still in fashion, preserved mainly in music, costumes, customs and fiestas. A good third or so of Valencia proudly sports regional costumes (said to be the most colourful in Spain), and music on even the smallest occasion. That includes a lot of

youth. Here, it is still cool to be traditional in the 21st century.Valencia’s culture goes beyond the traditional. It doesn’t want to turn into another Benidorm. More and more, Valencia gets into the circuit of world music, arts and cultural events. There is something going on constantly; a truly cosmopolitan and avante-garde spectrum of events. Add to it scores of museums, theatres, art galleries, classical music venues resident in Valencia, and you really don’t have an excuse to be bored.Yes, there is a beach; about the best city beach I have ever seen. It might not be a deserted island, but it is large, clean and lively, plus the climate is amazing, the water is great and the sand is of top quality. With all its buzz and ambition, and a million things to offer, Valencia remains cosy, warm, friendly and laid back. They call Valencia “the biggest Spanish village”. It is extraordinary and totally incomprehensible but it works, visitors simply love it...and you will too!

our days relaxing on one of our many sandy beaches, perhaps even enjoying a little snorkelling, volleyball or just strolling along the water’s edge hand in hand with your lover. And it gets even better when your leisure time includes a visit to some fun, local beach bars to enjoy a chilled drink or two, perhaps dine on an appetiser or hearty meal while at the same time taking a little part of your day to just chill out and relax. Of course the perfect chill out experience is not just about the location, although we do have some truly fabulous establishments in which to spend a little chill out time (or indeed a long chill out

If you prefer your chill out time to be after sunset then for you the experience starts with getting dressed up for the evening and putting on a pretty flowing summer dress or for gents your favourite shirt and linen trousers. 2012 Torre del Mar’s famous ‘Italia Pizzeria Restaurante’ celebrates 25 successful years of trading...and continues to go from strength to strength.I went along to interview Serreno for this special article but instead of talking about himself and using this page as a publicity vehicle he wanted me to convey his gratitude. Gratitude to his loyal clientele, to whom he and his family are eternally grateful for their continued support and, gratitude to the team at Italia Restaurante who continue to work hard to keep the restaurant in the top spot that it so rightly deserves. Serreno also wanted me to take the time to say how proud he is of his family that continue to support each other day in and day out. And fi nally says Serreno, a very big thank you goes out to the many friends that they have all made over the past 25 years, friendships that they hope will continue to fl ourish throughout the next 25 years.

Certain drinks are irrevocably associated with certain

cities or countries. The Singapore Sling and Manhattan are obvious. Cuba has its Daiquiri, Puerto Rico the Piña Colada. Dublin’s drink is Guinness, Rio has the caipirinha, and for the best Gin and Tonic, you would naturally look towards... Spain?I was more than surprised a couple of months ago when a gin distiller friend of mine told me that Spain makes the best G&T, served in a tumbler or red-wine glass and garnished with citrus peel and fresh spices like star anise or grated nutmeg. The “Gintonic” as it is known, has apparently been the off-duty drink of choice of Spanish chefs for a decade now, and their infatuation has gone large

with many trendy bars and restaurants now offering an entire menu dedicated to gin and tonic. It is not unusual for these establishments to have up to 80 different gins on the shelves, sourced from all around the world. The British may have invented the drink, but the Spanish have elevated it to an art form. THE HISTORYIn the beginning, it was all just medicine. Hoping to ward off malaria, British troops in India in the early 1800s took to drinking water mixed with the ground-up, quinine-laden bark of the cinchona tree. La mitología afirma que extrañas ocurrencias pueden ocurrir en la noche más corta del año y cualquiera que viva en España conoce el esplendor y la emoción de San Juan. En Andalucía San Juan se celebra la noche del 23, la mayor parte de las ciudades y pueblos costeros permiten la acampada en las playas para celebrar esta noche especial, todos vamos a la playa acampamos esa noche, hacemos una hoguera, algo de comer y

luego nadamos en el mar a medianoche para limpiar nuestras almas y ahuyentar los malos espíritus. Muchos creen en el ritual de lavarse la cara y los pies tres veces para que se cumplan tres deseos y doce felices meses. Las hogueras son el tema de la noche y según la tradición, si saltas la hoguera tres veces estarás limpio y purificado y tus problemas consumidos por el fuego.Depende de donde vivas la experiencia de San Juan, puedes verte hechizado por el espectáculo. Elaboracion: Precalentar el horno a 240o; una vez caliente tostaremos las rebanadas de pan al gusto. Batiremos los huevos y los sazonaremos con sal, pimienta y orégano,para más tarde hacer las tortillas necesarias en una sarten bastante caliente con un poco de aceite de oliva.Paralelamente trituraremos los tomates que más tarde usaremos para untar en las tostas.Cortar el solomillo en tiras finas y en una sarten muy caliente con aceite las marcaremos solo por un lado; sazonar y reservar.

PresentacionUtilizar la rebanada de pan (ahora se podria dar con un diente de ajo si se desea) para poner el aceite y el tomate; la tortilla puede cortarse en trocitos, poniendo la carne en los trozos deseados y decorándola al gusto, sin olvidar de poner sal de escamas para darle el toque perfecto.

Welcome to the Ferrari 458 Spider, the world’s fi rst

hardtop convertible mid-engine supercar, and arguably the fi nest road-going motor car money can buy.Now fi rstly lets face it, every Ferrari oozes sex appeal (well, except perhaps the California), but the Spider, she jumps on your lap, grabs you by your ears and practically demands your attention. And that’s with her top up.Push a little button on the tunnel between the seats, and an elegant 14 second striptease begins with the retraction of the two side windows. The rear deck clamshells skyward while the aluminum roof separates into a large forward section and smaller rear sliver. These pieces fl ip 180 degrees and stack on top of each other in a cavity behind the cabin shared with the engine bay. As the windows rise and deck closes, two black caps pop out to connect the triangular buttresses to the B-pillar, completing the look, and what a look it is. This folding roof is an engineer’s dream; a stunningly elegant solution to a fi endishly diffi cult problem. The time and attention
