Bio-energetic Assessments. Sound like science fiction? Let’s go back to the basics; everything in our world is composed of atoms, and those atoms have protons and electrons, a positive and negative electrical charge respectively. So if everything is made up of atoms, then we are too – think static electricity.

Utilizing a non-invasive computerized tool called the Avatar, we are able to eavesdrop into the communication system of the body. The science of the Avatar, or more generally a bio-energetic assessment, is based on an outgrowth of extensive research performed in Germany in the early 1950's by Dr. Reinhold Voll, a medical doctor and acupuncturist. His research led him to note that a controlled current at specific meridian points could provide feedback from the organs and systems within the body. Voll theorized that

energy readings higher than normal signify the potential of an inflammatory condition and lower readings relate to degenerative tissue damage.

Think of it like our fighter T-cells, when we have an infection and a host of fighter cells come to the rescue - buzzing around fixing up the area. This conglomeration changes how energy is distributed in the body. The converse is when the energy read is below the healthy base line – this is similar to the forgotten zone and hence relates to degenerative tissue.

Current research is confirming that chronic, unresolved inflammation does in fact lead to tissue and organ degeneration. A bio-energetic assessment provides information into a wide range of puzzling health-related problems, offering a complimentary approach to biochemistry-based medicine.

If there is one thing I have learned in my 25 years of therapy, it is that clients bring to the office everything they need to change a situation. I always tell my clients that they have “all the answers.” Most of the time, I am a conduit for opening the door to the inherent wisdom they possess. I believe that when you ask the question, you already know the answer, so oftentimes my job is to get a client to believe in themselves to achieve the changes they want in their life.

After getting a thorough assessment of the situation, I typically ask clients how they might:

• Alterasituationtomakeitmore palatable

• Changeasituationsothatthey are no longer oppressed

• Workontheproblemtoalleviate the issue.

Frequently they say that they don’t know how to change their future. That is when I ask them, "If you did know . . . what would you do?” More often than not, they come up with a solution. The same scenario occurs when I ask clients to identify what they believe they should do. After much trepidation, they tell me what they think, and I then encourage them to do it. They will typically respond with, “I don’t know how to create that change.” My belief is that they do know how, they just don’t know that they do. I then ask them to practice a technique called “fake it til you make it.” “Fake it til you make it” is a self esteem builder. It presupposes that you have the ability inside of you to do the project, convey your needs, take control of a situation, or know what decision to make. It bypasses the self doubt and the lack of self confidence. “Fake it til you make it” is an incredible technique that really works, if you work it.

You may be asking yourself, “Why do I have to fake it…where does all this self doubt come from?” Oftentimes, lack of

confidence stems from your childhood. Although your parents may not have meant to be a negative influence on you, they may have had unrealistic expectations for you. This can leave you feeling that you are not measuring up to who they want you to be. In trying to please your parents, you may end up sacrificing your own desires. Seeking your parents’ approval can sabotage your sense of self if your goals conflict with your parents. If this conflict occurs, it can naturally cause you to feel incomplete, insecure, and self conscious. How do you offset these feelings? Try the following recommendations on a regular basis for the best results:

• Findsupportivepeoplewho affirm you and your ideas.

• Usepositiveself-talktoderail the negative tapes that play in your head.

• Findgroupsthatsupportyouand encourage you to trust yourself.

• Practicethetechniqueof“fake it til you make it,” which ultimately means that you pretend you know what you are doing until you convince yourself that indeed you do.

Just remember, you really do possess the knowledge to change any situation. You do have the answers. The exercise of “fake it til you make it” can prove to you that you have the capabilities, and all you need is to practice until you prove it to yourself.

“The low value that many families and societies place on girls makes possible many of the worst abuses they suffer. But even among girls who are spared the worst, too often it is a girl who is still the first to drop out of school, the last to be fed, the last to receive medical care. And in too many places, she is taught there are special limits to what is possible for her. “ Hillary Clinton.Maybe you remember? How old were you? 14? 16? The pressure to be “liked”, the longing to look like those girls in Seventeen magazine; the clothes you just had to have, but couldn’t afford, that would make you part of that special group; the aching to go on to college, to make something of yourself but knew your chances were slim; the dreams you had to see the world, do something great, but didn’t dare dream you could get there. Maybe as a grown woman you’re still fighting these types of pressures.

Girls struggle with many of the same issues you did- and more. Did you know-

Harmony is dedicated to help you find relief from the challenging and sometimes debilitating

effects of hormone imbalance that can wreak havoc on us physically, emotionally, and sexually. If you suspect that your hormones are to blame for your aches and pains, night sweats, moodiness, irritability, mental fogginess, low libido or fatigue then we can help!

We consider our patients as family and your hormonal needs are our deepest concern. Our physician, Dr. Paul O'Brien, carefully evaluates your hormone levels and tailors the therapy according to what hormones your body needs to feel confident and well again. Life is stressful and often downright frustrating; now, combine modern-

day stressors with the effects of menopause, post menopause, andropause (in men), or surgeries: i.e., hysterectomies that drastically deplete hormones, we are left feeling drained, tired or depressed.

The good news is that you or your loved ones don't have to suffer anymore--we are here to help. Our hormones are bio-natural meaning they are derived from plant sources such as soy and yams. Bio-natural hormones are identical to what is produced within our bodies unlike synthetic hormones which are similar but not molecularly identical.

Our goal is to balance your hormone levels naturally. Women and men greatly benefit from hormone replacement therapy. When there is balance, there is harmony!

Business SPOTLIGHT

Hoosier TV & Radio personality Joni Michels, has joined the hundreds of other patients being treated at the all new Harmony Medical, located in Fishers on Allisonville Rd. Joni is a long time media personality, host, & reporter who has spent the better part of her career waking up “at the crack of dawn” she joked. She decided to try the therapy at Harmony after feeling sleep deprived & no zest for workouts anymore. “I started planning my days around “naps” and wasn’t getting the same results out of my pilates and other workouts”. Joni believes most women on the planet can relate to that. Another key factor in Joni’s decision to get treatment at Harmony Medical was that “I feel good about the fact that the therapy is natural and it makes me feel safe”. After her

initial consultation & treatment she noticed an energy boost in less than a month. “ On a Friday morning I got up at my usual 4am, actually “enjoyed my run”, went to work, ran errands for my parents, and hosted a party that evening!” Joni explained that it was like somebody just flipped on the light switch. After a few months into the therapy she said she noticed more subtle changes like her energy level was being sustained and she was getting more out her workouts. “We all lead busy lives and I love the fact the medical professionals at Harmony get you in at your convenience and they customize every individual’s treatment. I’m not dreaming about my next nap anymore either. I’m so glad I made the decision to have the therapy at Harmony Medical of Indiana”.

At first glance, it may seem like a subtle distinction, but the worlds of motivation and inspiration are a million miles apart.

Many people use the words “motivated” and “inspired” interchangeably. But a closer look may change your perspective.

We seem to need motivation to get stuff done. Typically there’s a lot of “measuring” that happens in the realm of motivation. Check lists and goal posts. There is often a fear of loss involved. We are on duty. All perfectly natural.

But beyond finish lines and good jobs, is a different call. The word inspiration means to be in spirit. When you’re tuned into your spirit, it is magnetic and progressive. Its reasoning cannot always be reasoned -- I just gotta do it. You are launched into the unfenced field of freedom and possibilities.

So, motivation is about things that you think you should do or that you’re supposed to do. Inspiration is about being called to act because you’re in direct alignment with the magnetic, luminous potential that is you.

A look at the difference...MOTIVATION You run the 5k to lose weight, stay in shape, raise money for cancer. It’s on your bucket list. Achievement is thrilling.

INSPIRATION The runner’s high. My body simply has to run. When I run, I feel closer to life.

MOTIVATION You write the book, the blog, the brochure to raise your profile so you can sell more stuff, serve more people. You compose and package your thoughts. A 1000 words a day until

you’ve crossed the finish line.

INSPIRATION I have something to say that needs to be heard. When I write I feel bigger, freer, like God is using me well.

Continual inspiration is about continual realignment

You might be thinking… “How do I get inspired?” Well, you can’t. Inspiration isn’t something you get, it comes from within, it comes from your core.

So being inspired isn’t about doing something external to bring something in. That’s motivation, remember?

Being inspired is about a constant process of realignment. Whenever you’re feeling like you have to push, it’s time to realign. Whenever you’re feeling like you’re not enjoying life, it’s time to realign. Whenever you feel like you’re trying to fulfill a quota or expectation, it’s time to realign.

Realignment isn’t anything complicated. It’s very simple, actually. All it involves is drawing inward and exploring what you really want.

So, what do you really want? Not what should you want, not what you think might be a good idea for you to want. What lights you up? Once you’ve got a grasp on that, stay with it for a little while. Bathe in it, savor it. Taste it on your tongue. Feel it tingling down your spine.

It feels good, doesn’t it?

If it doesn’t feel good, you’re still not there. Keep going.

Once you’ve come to that state of anticipation, you’re inspired. You’re In Spirit. Now you are ready to fly...

The redbird has long been a sign of hope in our family. The symbol started many years ago when

I had just started law school, and my father, then 50 years old, suffered a massive heart attack. The doctors said that a heart attack of that magnitude would have killed 97% of men instantly, but because my mother is so astute and took my father to the hospital at the first sign that something was unusually wrong with my non-complaining father, the massive part of the attack occurred in the intensive care unit. The doctors sustained his life even though the prognosis was grim. My airline flight back to Evansville was the first one available, and mom and I stood vigil at the intensive care unit through those long days and nights as they at first gave him only hours to live and then days.In our shock and grief, mom and I went home only to bathe and change clothes. It was perhaps the third day, when the doctor was still saying he probably had only days to live, that something changed our paradigm. As my Aunt Vickie came to the hospital to give us a short reprieve, we went to mom and dad’s home, a mile away, where my stoic and strong mother broke down and cried in my arms. I will never forget it. She did not know what she would do without my dad; she did not

know how she would make it even one day without him. After we held each other, I suggested that we take a short walk through our beautiful backyard. It was cold and crisp outside with a perfect peacock blue sky. A snow had fallen through the night. It was a wet snow that hung, thick and plump, on every branch of each of the 100 trees in our backyard. As we walked and prayed, I looked up at that gorgeous sky and

there against the bright blue sky, on a completely snow-covered tree, was the most brilliantly-colored redbird I had ever seen. The contrast in the vividly red bird, the bright blue sky and the glistening white snow branches was unbelievable, even as I remember it today. It stunned both my mom and me, and we could not help but think that it was a sign that ALL would be well.Miraculously, and to the complete amazement of all the doctors, my dad survived the five days, the first year and now more than thirty years hence. We are grateful every year for the gift of his life and for the symbol of hope that pulled us through a very dark time.My father had none of the trigger causes of a massive heart attack. He was not overweight; he never smoked cigarettes nor drank alcohol. He was a tirelessly hard worker and had owned his own business, with my mother, for most of his adult life. The doctor surmised that, although he always appeared calm and in control, he may have internalized the stress that is inherent in owning and running your own business. One of my many lessons, from this time period in my parents’ lives and my life, was that life itself is unpredictable, and we really cannot know what lies ahead. It has helped me to help others plan for their wishes in their estate for their ultimate passing from this life. I learned that we all need to start now to plan to get our affairs in order. by Marti Starkey

The story of HCG began in the Fifties when, after having done research on weight loss for 40 years and research on HCG specifically for twenty years, Dr. Simeons reported that patients taking small amounts of HCG, in conjunction with a very low calorie diet, could lose weight safely and quickly without exercise, muscle loss or hunger.

But all HCG is not created equal. The Pounds and Inches Away program starts with pharmaceutical HCG. Unfortunately, there has been a lot of confusion created by products being sold without guidance that call themselves “HCG” but do not contain any in their ingredient list. HCG is one of 67 hormones naturally produced in the human body, so if a product states that it is hormone free. HCG does produce weight loss by itself. However, in concert with a very specific balanced diet, and our help in avoiding unexpected environmental or behavioral deviations, HCG will allow the body to naturally pull the nutrients and calories needed from stored fat reserves into the blood stream at the rate of 1500 to 4000 calories per day.We are sure that those who follow our protocol WILL lose 20-30 pounds in 40 days. These fantastic results ARE typical with our full service packages. The Pounds and Inches Away program is not your run of the mill “eat less and exercise more” diet for a slow loss of 1 to 2 pounds a week that seems to take the rest of your life. Our protocol tricks Mother Nature a little, maybe, however only natural processes are at work. Per Dr. Simeons, it is safe and so very effective.

Carolyn's StoryAbout a year ago, I’d given up on ever losing the weight I had put on over the past 10 years. I tried everything out there and nothing worked. One day I saw an ad for Pounds and Inches Away in Castleton. I called them and decided to try their HCG Weight Loss Program.

I started the program in September of 2012and was amazed how easily the weight came off. The staff at Pounds and Inches Away were very supportive and helpful. They were always available to answer my questions. They even called me to help with my accountability. Yes, I had to follow the program, but with their direction I was able to lose weight and keep it off. I completed two rounds between Labor Day 2012 and Easter 2013 – and I lost 52 lbs. Losing the weight made me realize – I wasn’t as old as I felt! My blood pressure is down, my cholesterol is improving. My health, overall, is significantly improved from a year ago. It wasn’t easy, but it was absolutely worth it. I feel alive again and it’s all because I walked into Pounds and Inches Away Castleton and let them get me started on a new path.

Hilton's Story I was significantly overweight. My doctor was concerned that my weight would cause certain health problems as I aged. Pounds and Inches Away helped me lose 70 pounds over the course of six months! I found the program during the first 40 days to be easy and safe. I learned to eat much healthier and that was something my wife and I wanted to do for years. I followed the suggested meals, measuring the protein consistently. I had an apple as a snack in the afternoon or evening as well as learned to drink water. The maintenance period offered the opportunity to get reintroduced to some of the other foods that I liked, but in moderation. I have been able to maintain my weight since stopping with the drops. One highlight is that I have not had a Coke or Pepsi in over 19 months! Kathryn and her team are very supportive and helpful. The Pounds and Inches Away regime works, is safe, and you will love the results!
