Universal: That human trafficking, the modern form of slavery, may be eradi-cated. Evangelization: That with a missionary spirit the Christian communities of Asia may announce the Gospel to those who are still awaiting it.

Page 3: October 4, 2015 - holyfamilyparish.ca · Our Mission is to live in the Spirit of the Holy Family Email: hfp@holyfamilyparish.ca Website: 75 Poirier Ave. St. Albert, AB T8N 6A1 Office

MERCY MINUTE: Always fight with the deep conviction that I am with you. Do not be guided by feeling, because it is not always under your control, but all merit lies in the will. (Our Lord’s words to St. Faustina). Diary 1760

YOUTH LEADERS NEEDED: We are looking for a number of both High School students who are interest-ed in helping lead VERVE nights as well as Adults who are interested in helping lead both UNITE and VERVE nights. We do need a minimum of 3 adult leaders to run an event for our youth which sadly means that if we do not have the volunteers needed to run the event it will be cancelled. If this interests you please contact the office.

FAMILY GAMES NIGHT & SOCIAL IN THE HALL:

Fun for the whole family. October 24 at 7pm. Games like Catholic Jeopardy, Life Size Dutch Blitz, Cards, and Board Games. All ages welcome… babies, children, youth, university students, parents, and grandparents. Feel free to bring your favourite board game and please bring some goodies to share. Come out and meet other Catholic families in an atmosphere of Catholic culture. It is going to be such an awe-some event you won't want to miss it!!!

DO YOU NEED PRAYERS?

Fr. Peter and the pilgrims of Holy Fam-ily would like to pray for your inten-tions while they travel to many Holy Places in Greece and Turkey during our upcoming pilgrimage. Please write your prayer intentions in the space provided, cut it out and place it in the collection basket. Requests will be col-lected until Sunday October 11th.

COLLECTION FOR SYRIAN REFUGEES:

In response to the escalating crisis of Syrian refugees, we will be taking up a second collection during all masses on the weekend of October 18. This collec-tion is part of an unprecedented joint appeal to Catholics across the country, involving the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, the Canadian Organ-ization for Development and Peace, the Catholic Near East Welfare Associ-ation, and Aid to the Church in Need (ACN). Our Syrian brothers and sisters are suffering unimaginable misery; please do what you can to reach out to help.

40 DAYS FOR LIFE: A prayerful prolife movement. Please join Holy Family in filling all the avail-able time slots on Thursdays between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm. There are two ways to help! Presence on site: join us for one hour in a peaceful prayer vigil at 10958 - 124 St. in Edmonton. Prayer support: before the Blessed Sacrament at Holy Family for one hour dedicated to saving the unborn.

WELCOME! A big welcome to the Kossa family who arrived in our parish on September 28th. They were at 11:00 am Mass this morning, please join the larger parish family in welcoming them to our community.

Sooner or later, we all confront some of these issues. You are invited to join Archbishop Smith for a special seminar on Questions of Life and Death, on Wednesday, November 4, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Providence Renew-al Centre, 3005 - 119 Street, Edmonton. Guest speakers are Alex Schadenberg of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition and Dr. Moira McQueen of the Cana-dian Catholic Bioethics Institute. The session is free, and all are welcome.
