Especially by someone who is smiling, happy and having fun. Servant Evangelism wins the heart before it con-fronts the mind. A small act of kindness nudges a person closer to God, often in a profound way as it bypasses ones mental defenses. The average Christ-follower is willing to hand a stranger a can of cold Coke on a hot day (low risk). WASHINGTON... A stone monument of the Ten Commandments that sits on a street behind the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington has been toppled by vandals. The 3-foot-by-3-foot granite monument weighs 850 pounds and sits out front of the headquarters of Faith and Action, a Christian outreach ministry. The group installed the tablets in a garden out-side its offices in 2006, and the group’s president said the tablets were angled so that justices arriving at the high court would see them. The monument was not damaged and will be restored in its place.

A MINISTER AND HIS WIFE were worried about the future of their son. He was eighteen and showed no interest in anything. They decided to put him to the test. They put a Bible, a twenty-dollar bill, and a quart of whiskey on the table. If the boy chose the Bible, he would probably be a minister like his father. If he chose the money, he would be a banker or a businessman. If he took the whiskey, he would probably be a wastrel or a drunkard. The parents called him into the room and asked him to make a choice. He looked over the temptations carefully. In Fiddler on the Roof, Tevye keeps up a run-ning dialogue with God, giving credit for the good things but also lamenting all that goes wrong. In one scene he sits dejected by the side of the road with his lame horse. “I can understand it,” he says to God, “when You punish me when I am bad; or my wife because she talks too much; or my daughter be-cause she wants to go off and marry a Gentile, but… What have You got against my horse?”

Friday night Prayer Time has increased to an average of sixty in attendance. Our Prayer Teams are meeting faithfully each week and another Prayer Team will have been added by the time you read this. During the past three months we have rejoiced over 27 professions of faith.

For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!” -Rev. 19:6 What a joy to know that our God has chosen to love the most unworthy among us. Knowing this we praise His holy name.

Margaret Sangster Phippen wrote that in the mid-1950’s her father, British minister W.E. Sangster, began to notice some uneasiness in his throat and a dragging in his leg. When he went to the doctor, he found that he had an incurable disease that caused progressive mus-cular atrophy. His muscles would gradually waste away, his voice would fail, and his throat would soon become unable to swallow. Sangster threw himself into his work in the British home missions, figuring he could still write and he would have even more time for prayer. “Let me stay in the struggle Lord,” he pleaded. “I don’t mind if I can no longer be a general, but give me just a regiment to lead.” He wrote articles and books, and helped organize prayer cells throughout England. “I’m only in the kindergarten of suffering,” he told people who pitied him. Gradually Sangster’s legs became useless. His voice went com-pletely. But he could still hold a pen, shakily. On Easter morning, just a few weeks before he died, he wrote a letter to his daughter. In it, he said, “It is ter-rible to wake up on Easter morning and have no voice to shout, ‘He is risen!’ –but it would be still more terrible to have a voice and not want to shout.”
