Thank you for your interest in purchasing our seeds and supporting local businesses. We understand there is a lot of concern about GMO’s, and we can assure you NONE of our seeds are GMO. Genetically modified varieties are created in a laboratory by altering the DNA of a plant in a way that would not occur naturally. Since a lot of research goes into creating them, they are extremely expensive and distribution heavily controlled. A company has to be registered to sell GMO’s, and we are not. We do sell some hybrids, but these should not be confused with GMO’s. Hybrids are not altered genetically in a laboratory setting. Hybrid plants are cross bred, in the field or greenhouse, by plant breeders thru cross pollination to create a plant with the best fea- tures of both parents. A popular example of a hybrid is the Better Boy Tomato. We primarily sell open-pollinated seeds. These varieties are capable of producing seeds that will produce seedlings just like the parent plant. Many people consider older, open- pollinated varieties heirlooms. Although there is no “set” definition of heirloom, most gardeners agree anything before 1951 or pre-WWII can be considered heirloom.

Hybrid plants are cross bred, in the field or greenhouse, by plant breeders thru cross pollination to create a plant with the best fea-tures of both parents. A popular example of a hybrid is the Better Boy Tomato.

We primarily sell open-pollinated seeds. These varieties are capable of producing seeds that will produce seedlings just like the parent plant. Many people consider older, open-pollinated varieties heirlooms. Although there is no “set” definition of heirloom, most gardeners agree anything before 1951 or pre-WWII can be considered heirloom.
