Bazaar Planning Our annual parish bazaar is just over two months away!

Planning is underway and we are looking for people to

help. Some of our booths are being changed based on

feedback we have received. Overall the changes will help

streamline the event and make various details work for the

volunteers involved.

We will no longer have a White Elephant sale with

household goods. Instead, we will be accepting just

Christmas and other holiday items, children’s items, jewelry,

and pocket books. Donations will be accepted on the

following dates:

 Monday, October 28th - 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.

 Friday, November 1st - 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

 Monday, November 4th - 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.

 Thursday, November 7th - 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

We will not accept household goods, dishes, appliances, clothes,

sporting goods, décor items, books, furniture, kitchen ware,

glassware, etc. (The decision to eliminate the White Elephant

sale was due to an overwhelmingly large amount of leftover

donated items over the past few years. Many local charities will

not accept certain types of goods. As a result, we had to pay for

the disposal of items we were unable to sell or donate.)

Our bake sale table will now include a variety of homemade

food items in addition to sweets and goodies. There will be

jams, jellies, breads, honey, homegrown herbs, and more!

If you have any ideas or plan to make something,

please let us know.

Crafts will now branch out to more than just Christmas. We

will still have many beautiful handmade Christmas items in

addition to some new items that are being created behind

the scenes. Volunteers are needed to make crafts!

In the coming weeks, we will update everyone about the

event. In the meantime, we are already collecting scratch

tickets. If you are able to donate scratch tickets, they may

be dropped in the collection basket at Mass. Thank you!

Candy Maker(s) Needed! We are in search of someone to volunteer as the

chairperson of the candy table at the bazaar. We also

could utilize some volunteers to work behind the scenes

making candy. If you love to make fudge and other

delicious confections, and are willing to take on the

coordination of this table, or if you would like to make some

candy for us, please contact the parish office. Kathy, our

most recent chairperson, is willing to continue to help but is

no longer able to chair the table. Please feel free to reach out

if you have any questions or would like more information.

We will welcome any new and fresh ideas as well. Now

is the time to offer suggestions! Thanks!

Our October Special Collection is for:

- Mission Sunday

Our November Special Collections will be for:

-Archdiocese for Military Services

-Campaign for Human Development

Please place donations in a separate envelope marked for the

special collection you are contributing toward. Thank you!

News and Updates New Parish Mass Schedule

Senior Meals

Daily Mass - Important Notice Over the course of the past several years, Daily Mass

attendance has decreased. Attendance is especially low

during the winter months. As a result, we have decided

not to hold Daily Mass from November 15th through

April 15th. The last Daily Mass for 2019 will be held on

Thursday, November 14th at 8:00 a.m. Masses will

resume on Monday, April 20th with a Monday and

Wednesday only schedule. For anyone wishing to attend

Daily Mass during the winter, you are welcome to attend

at Notre Dame Church in Adams Monday - Thursday at

8:30 a.m. and the first Friday of every month at

St. Stanislaus Church at 10:00 a.m. We will be transferring

Mass intentions from weekdays in November and

December to earlier dates and will contact you to make

the change if necessary. Please contact the office with any

questions. As always, we thank you for your continued

support and cooperation!!! God Bless!!!

Please note our new weekend Mass times:

Saturdays: 5:30 p.m. - St. Mary’s Church

Sundays: 9:15 a.m. - St. Mary’s Church

The Cheshire Council on Aging is not only for Cheshire

residents! If you don’t live in town and still would like

to participate, you are more than welcome to join!

Hot Lunch for Seniors 60+ is served each Monday,

Tuesday, and Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. for a suggested

donation of just $2.00! To reserve your meal, contact

413-743-9719 at least 24 hours in advance.

Transportation is available on Wednesdays by calling

413-446-2559.

Public Rosary Rally Our parish will hold a Public Rosary Rally in honor

of the 102nd anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima’s

Miracle of the Sun on Saturday, October 12th at 12:00

noon in the courtyard behind St. Mary’s Church.

Everyone is welcome to attend this event, which will be

held rain or shine. The program will consist of:

Immaculate Mary, Angels, Holy Rosary, How to Pray the

Rosary, Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Prayer of

Total Consecration, Divine Praises, and O Sanctissima.

Flu Vaccination Clinic The Berkshire Public Health Alliance, through a public

health nursing contract with the Town of Cheshire, will be

offering a Flu Vaccination Clinic at the Cheshire Senior/

Community Center, on Wednesday, October 9th from

12:00 noon - 2:00 p.m. All are welcome! The vaccine is

available at no charge to individuals ages 6 months and older.

Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Please wear a shirt with sleeves that may be easily rolled up

and if you have insurance, please bring your card.

Box Tops for Education Over the next few years, Box Tops for Education will

move to a digital format and the physical Box Tops

will be phased out.

The new process is quite simple. Download the Box Tops

for Education App and sign up with St. Stanislaus as your

school. When you purchase a Box Tops item, go to the

app and scan your receipt. Eligible products are clearly

marked but you may scan any receipt for eligible products

if you are unsure.

Currently, we are still accepting clipped Box Tops for St.

Stan’s, so please keep bringing them in! All physical Box

Tops will still be accepted as long as they aren’t expired.

During the transition, the school can even “double

dip” (scan & clip)!

Please download the app and give it a try! Thank you in

advance for supporting your local Catholic School!

Thank you! We extend our loving thanks to our Religious Education

staff and to all who provided such a beautiful tribute and

party for us. May God always reward your kindness and

generosity, and may He always bless your good work.

Sincerely,

Deacon Bob & Diane Hitter
