Gentlemen, welcome back from your first combat mission in Operation: Lighting Strike (OLS). Your prior mission’s success enabled

NATO special forces to capture the southern islands and completely dismantle the air defenses located there. Within 24hrs NATO expects

to have our own air defenses set up on the islands. CENTCOM is pleased with your performance.

However the situation has changed as new intel reports have flagged a high value nuclear facility in the southwest of peninsula, and our

mission is to clear the area again for incoming friendly forces who intend to capture and secure the facility and it’s contents. As a result,

we’ve called an audible with today’s mission and will run XCAS missions in the air space under the command of a controller, callsign

CHAPPY, that will pass our assets time sensitive targets (TST) on the fly as needed. For those not familiar with the XCAS mission, our

planners use certain missions as placeholders for potential TST attacks. For instance, “XCAS” is an ATO identifier specifying on-call,

airborne close air support. The XCAS aircraft are fueled and armed, and loiter in a specific area until they are assigned to a target. We

know the target location but the intel team has not had enough time yet to identify all enemy defenses in the area. Therefore, all assets in

today’s mission will be on air alert ready for targets.

Our original plan was to strike Kwanju and Sachon today but that won’t happen until after our operation has started. Therefore, we will be

rolling in-and-out all air assets into CAP positions surrounding the target kill box. Each flight will be rotated in to target and/or the CAP role

in today’s mission. TSTs may include ground units, facilities, or naval targets. //TOP SECRET//

HIGH LEVEL MISSION FLOW

• Air assets will takeoff and check in with CHAPPY on UHF 13 – 307.30.

• Fly to their initial points (position 1 in the ATO)

• Two flights will work ROCKY while the rest CAP or refuel.

• When a flight exits ROCKY, a new flight enters ROCKY

• One of the exiting flights will go get gas (tanker Callsign Diesel) and be on call for immediate support or rotate into the wheel

• We will run this wheel until all air-to-surface ordnance has been expended.

NOTE: All aircraft must check in and out with controller (CHAPPY) on VHF 13 (119.50) when entering ROCKY airspace. Once checked

in, flights will receive target coordinates, 9-line, weather and threat info.

COVERAGE AGAINST AIR THREATS IS MISSION CRITICAL AND WILL BE THE PRIORITY AT ALL TIMES.
