The next St. Mary’s Rosary Society meeting will take place on Sat, October 14, 2017 at 1pm, starting with Mass, praying the rosary and then meeting. This meeting will also include the “Blessing of the Roses.”

The next Parish Food Drive will take place the weekend of October 28 & 29 and it will be for the Father English Community Center.

CURIOSIDADES

La mayoría de nosotros consideramos que la Antártica es el lugar más frio de nuestro mundo. Y fue el 21 de Junio de 1983 cuando se produjo la temperatura MÁS FRÍA JAMÁS MEDIDA EN LA TIERRA. Fue el -129 F en la Base de Vostok ubicada a 3488 metros de altitud en la Antárti-da.

La razón por la que la manzana es buena para quemar grasas reside en el hecho de que llevan ricos nutrientes, vitamina C, flavonoides y bata-caroteno. Un jugo de manzana combinado con remolacha es algo perfecto para completar nuestra cena.

Sabía usted que el cepillo de dientes fue inventado en 1498. Durante milenios las personas han usado una fantástica variedad de implementos para mantener sus dientes brillantes. Ramas deshilachadas, palillos y hasta plumas de ave. Todas ellas han sido descubiertas en las excava-ciones de los primeros cuartos de aseo.

William Talbot, el inventor de una de las primeras cámaras, fue inspirado por su inhabilidad pa-ra dibujar. El describió uno de sus borradores como “melancolía para preservar, deseando que hubiera una manera de fijar en papel las imágenes fotográficas que habían sido observadas por siglos en la cámara oscura. Esto ocurrió en el año 1826.

No hace mucho tiempo que tener un defecto cardiaco irreversible implicaba la muerte segura. Esto cambió cuando los médicos suecos Rune Elmqvist y Ake Senning diseñaron el primer mar-capaso implantable en 1958. Sin embargo, el instrumento fallo a las pocas horas de puesto en marcha y fue el ingeniero norteamericano Wilson Greatbatch quien perfeccionó el invento.

Apoya la educación de seminaristas, la Casa de retiro de nuestros sacerdotes diocesanos jubilados y nuestras escuelas en zonas urbanas.

¡Cada regalo cuenta! Santa Teresa una vez escribió: “sentimos que lo que hacemos es solo una gota en el océano, pero ese océano puede ser menos sin esa gota”. Nuestra Campaña anual del obispo puede hacer mucho más con lo que ustedes puedan dar. Por favor hagan del 2017 el año en que nuestra Campaña anual del obispo haga aún mucho más por las personas en profunda necesidad.

La Diócesis de Paterson hará una peregrinación mariana a la Basílica del Santuario Na-cional de la Inmaculada Concepción el 21 de octubre de 2017.

El Viaje Espiritual incluye: Santa Misa, Confesiones en la Iglesia Cripta, Presenta-ciones Catequísticas, Rosario (multilingüe), Tiempo de devoción, Divina Misericordia, Exposición del Santísimo Sacramento.

La peregrinación de un día tiene un costo de $ 49.00 por persona. Esto in-cluye transporte y propina, actividades durante todo el día en el Santuario, parada de

descanso mientras se va, parada de comida a la vuelta, salida de Washington a las 4:15 pm.

The Diocese of Paterson will be doing a Marian Pilgrimage to The Basilica of the Nation-al Shrine of the Immaculate Conception on October 21, 2017.

The Spiritual Journey includes: Holy Mass, Confessions in Crypt Church, Catechetical Presentations, Rosary (multi-lingual), Devotional Time, Divine Mer-cy, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.

The One-Day Pilgrimage has a cost of $49.00 per person. This includes transportation and gratuity, all day activities at Shrine, rest stop while going, Meal stop on return, depart Washington at 4:15pm.
