Art classes are open to high school students through senior citizens. Students

Stained Glass Workshop Beginner & Intermediate Beginners learn the copperfoil method. Basic skills of designing, cutting, foiling, and
soldering will be covered. Work at your pace. First class: demonstration & orientation
of tools & safety procedures. Basic kit can be purchased at the second class for $135.
Kit includes tools & materials for dozens of projects & glass for first project.
Intermediates: learn 3D construction of stained glass such as lamps and boxes. Bring

Registration Information
There are three ways to register: Register by mail. Send registration form, payment, proof of residency, and proof of
age (if applicable) to the Community Learning Center at the Clarkstown Learning
Center, Congers, NY 10920. Make checks payable to the Community Learning Center.
Register in person. Bring registration form, credit card, check or cash, proof of
residency and age (if applicable) to the Community Learning Center at the Clarkstown
Learning Center, 9 Lake Road, Congers, NY 10920. In person registration is available
each week day from 10 am—3 pm.
Register on line. Go to www.ccsd.edu/clc and click on the link for online payments.
MySchoolbucks is our online registration system. If you already have an account
with MySchoolbucks choose the first link. If you would like to register online without
creating an account, use the guest log in. Choose the course or courses you would like.
Pay with a check or credit card. Your registration is sent to us instantly!
Senior citizens 60 years of age or older will receive a 20% discount. Proof of age is
required to receive discount. Does not apply to courses that have a senior fee noted or
otherwise state no discount. Clarkstown Central School District employees receive a
10% discount. Discounts cannot be combined.
If there is low enrollment, a class may be cancelled. You will be contacted by phone
or email if there is a cancellation. Cancellations are not decided until a few days before
the start of the class. If you want to cancel a registration, a full refund is only available if
a written request is received prior to the start of the first day of class.
No refunds once a class has begun.
Emergency Closings: Emergency closings will be posted on the district website
www.ccsd.edu. You can also check our recorded announcement at (845) 639-5628. In
the event of a cancellation, every effort will be made to add another week to the course if
possible.

Other CLC Programs
Early Riser Program The Early Riser program is a before school program available at Bardonia, Lakewood,
West Nyack, and Woodglen elementary schools beginning at 6:45 each school day. It is
available at Little Tor Elementary school beginning at 7 am each school day. Child
must be registered to attend this drop in program. Fee is based on the time the child
arrives to the program. Go to www.ccsd.edu/clc for more information.
FestaVille Before School Program NEW!!!! This new before school child care program is open to all Felix Festa Middle School
students. The program is fully staffed by CCSD teachers and teaching assistants and is
licensed through the Office of Children and Family Services. Children can be dropped
off anytime after 7 am and will remain with the program until school starts. A variety
of activities are available as well as home work assistance. Children must be registered
and use this program if they are being dropped off at FFMS prior to 8 am. Go to

FestaVille FestaVille is an after school childcare program for students in Kindergarten through
eighth grade. The program is held at Felix Festa Middle School. Elementary students
are bused to FFMS on district buses. The program is available every school day until 6
pm. Staffed by CCSD teachers and Teaching Assistants. Full time and part time options
available. Fully licensed. Many activities available to students. Go to Festaville.org for

Driver Education (16—18 years old) Driver education is a 16 week program that begins on September 23, 2019. Students
must attend two 90 minute classes a week—one in the classroom and one in the car.
PAS Auto school has been contracted to do the in car instruction. The 5 hour pre-
licensing course is included in the program. Completing driver education is the only
way a student can obtain a senior driver license at the age of 17. Registration will open
the last week of August and is done online. Fee: $540
Lentz & Lentz SAT /ACT Prep Our comprehensive , three-hour per session, individualized program is geared to assist
bright, average, and underachieving students. Class time is split equally between
English and math, covering all facets of the exam. Classes begin September 9th for
Monday classes AND September 14th for Saturday classes. Fee: $405/$605

Educational Services Center SAT Prep Classes (ESC) Students are given in-depth subject matter review and test-taking strategies that allow
them to navigate the tests with greater ease for a score raising advantage. Taught by
certified teachers or professionals in related field who are expert in the area of the exam
they teach. Classes begin September 15th and are held on Sundays from 11:00—2:00.

Music & Movement Come sing and dance with Mr. Burr as he introduces your little ones to the joy of music
& movement. The children laugh & sing as he guides them through songs, all the while

Dog Training Classes– Paws With Manners In Cooperation With ‘Paws With Manners’ Dog Training. To register for dog training classes,

NOT be aggressive to other dogs or humans and be up-to-date on vaccinations and chemical flea

Raising Your Pup! (Humans only) Everything you ever wanted to know about raising your puppy! This one-time, 2 1/2 hour course

Small group course for dogs without much (or any) prior training, or those who need to

well as manners with strangers, “Leave It”, “Off”, waiting at doors, focus, responsible
ownership and more. Any issues that you are experiencing with your dog

Mental Health First Aid
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) NEW!!! This eight hour training will allow participants to administer assistance to someone who
may be developing a mental health or substance abuse problem or crisis. Participants
will learn the risk factors and warning signs of mental health concerns, information on
depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis, and substance abuse as well as a 5 step action

Advanced Obedience & Manners (5 Months or Older) Course improves on all obedience cues by adding many distractions so your dog continues to
learn to keep his attention focused on you and respond to you no matter what. We’ll add difficulty
to current skills and introduce new, more complex ones. We’ll proof against major distractions,
speed up his response time and focus, and introduce formal obedience as well as the beginnings
of off-lead work. Add some polish and finesse to your dog’s obedience! Class ends with the
C.L.A.S.S. (Canine Life and Social Skills) test, MA level, given on the last day of class. (For

Nose Work Level 1 (5 Months or Older) Work as team with your dog to build your dog’s natural desire to hunt for a specific scent while at
the same time training the handler how to read the dog’s subtle signals that communicate he has
found the scent. Any dog can participate, from puppies to seniors. In just some weeks, you’ll see
your dog beginning to ignore all distractions and confidently focus on the target scent. Allow
