About Station CampThe Station Camp Band has a history of excellence. Performing successfully on the state and national level requires dedication and pride on the part of each member. The Station Camp Band Marching Band performs at football games, parades, contests, and various other performance opportunities in Tennessee and surrounding states. We also have a Concert Band, a Jazz Band, and Percussion Ensembles. Each has several performances throughout the year. Band is a unique offering at Station Camp High School. It has curricular and co-curricular requirements.

The strength of the Band program is the consolidation of these requirements into one performance based academic course of study. Each student needs to maintain a positive attitude a cheerful outlook toward rehearsals and performances, cooperation in the preparation and maintenance of facilities and an eagerness to do what is necessary to be successful. This level of commitment from each individual student is the glue that holds the organization together and to a greater degree reflects the level of achievement of the individual and the organization.

Our band will be able to participate in this "once in a lifetime" opportunity with the help of community sponsors like you. We are anticipating a cost of over $200,000 for this trip. How would you like to be a part of making this dream come true?

Our Mission The mission of the Station Camp Band Boosters is to continually support the students, directors and families of the Station Camp Band in their goal to achieve the highest standards of music education and music performance; facilitate the musical enrichment of the student membership of Station Camp High and its feeder schools; promote the place and value of music in our community and the significant role music plays in the cultural, intellectual, and social lives of our children; and foster fellowship and goodwill among its members and provide its membership with opportunities for personal growth and leadership.

About This Event The National Pearl Harbor Memorial Day Parade committee has selected the Station Camp Thundering

Herd Marching Band to represent the great state of Tennessee in its 75th commemoration event celebrating the ending of World War II. Tennessee marching bands have traditionally been included in the annual parade event, as the USS Tennessee was one of the great battleships moored at Pearl Harbor during the attack; however, because this is a landmark anniversary year, the selection is even more prestigious. We are deeply honored to showcase the dedication of our band program, our school, and our community in this special event. Station Camp Thundering Herd will unite with bands from across the country to play in the parade’s opening ceremony. We are thrilled to demonstrate our musicianship as we perform America the Beautiful,

now in the 125th anniversary of its writing. Following the opening ceremony, we will march down Kalakaua Avenue, in Waikiki, in front of thousands of spectators from all over the world. In addition to this spectacular experience, we will be featured in a stand- alone performance at Pearl Harbor, in the shadow of the USS Missouri, upon whose decks the surrender was signed marking the end of the war 75 years ago. Our student performers will step out of the classroom and into history as they help to commemorate the past and celebrate the future with music. Our participation will demonstrate to our Veterans and their families the sentiments of a grateful nation, as well as remind the world that once bitter enemies can become friends and allies.
