ONE WORLD HISTORY

One World Children’s Fund (One World) was founded in 2000 by Shanti Cliff, Patricia 'Savitri' Burbank and Michael Kilgroe, who, while traveling in India, were moved by the extreme poverty they witnessed. Knowing that effective change is possible when dedicated people work to transform their own communities, they visited several successful grassroots organizations working in villages to educate children and young mothers and to eradicate the underlying conditions of poverty. When they returned home, they founded One World as a means to support the work they witnessed from these grassroots organizations.

One World Children's Fund is a nonprofit organization committed to improving the lives of children around the world who are affected by poverty. We envision a world where we all act together, as global citizens, to ensure every child has education, healthcare, and a safe place to call home.

ONE WORLD TODAY

Yes! We are growing. Over the last two years One World has doubled the amount of grants made, serving partners in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the United States.

Today, One World’s 35 Partners are serving more than 109,000 children in 18 countries. One World Champions have raised more than $4million that has gone directly to these schools, hospitals, clinics, shelters and homes that One World partners with. With three staff members, a working board, committees, donors, interns, fellows and volunteers – we have developed a community of global citizens dedicated to creating a world where every child has education, healthcare, and a safe home.
