CookingWhen cooking with infants and toddlers, allow them to help in a safe way with mixing, pouring, rolling, mashing, shaking, etc. Use words to describe what you are doing and what you plan to do next. Talk about what you see, smell, feel, hear, and taste.

Egg Salad

6 eggs¼ cup mayonnaise1 tablespoon mustardsalt and peppercrackers or bread

Place eggs in a pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer 14 minutes. Drain. Cover with cold water and cool. Peel and chop eggs. Stir in mayonnaise and mustard. Add additional mayonnaise if you prefer a creamier salad. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve on crackers or use as a filling for sandwiches.
