Background

OpenStack has become recognized as an essential open source cloud technology and has seen its use expand to a wide variety of organizations and industries. OpenStack has extended beyond the basic IaaS platform to encompass a wide variety of use cases including standardized service platforms, HPC platforms and Big Data processing platforms.

The OpenStack Project was established in 2010. In the three years following its inception, the OpenStack movement has widened its scope from a basic technology community to an expanding ecosystem providing support for its increasingly varied user profileincreasingly varied user profile.

Domestically in Japan, multiple vendors have announced OpenStack support and a number of user cases have emerged, however generally speaking Japan continues to lag behind not only the US and Europe butspeaking Japan continues to lag behind not only the US and Europe, but also the remainder of Asia in the promotion and adoption of OpenStack. The sharing of OpenStack user experiences and operations knowhow, is essential to the invigoration of Japan’s cloud industry.g p y

OpenStack Days Tokyo 2014 represents an opportunity for both cloudproviders and cloud users to gain a fuller awareness of OpenStack technology and its surrounding ecosystem. The event is held with a goal of increasing the overall competitiveness of Japan’s cloud industry.

Japan OpenStack User Group (JOSUG)

The Japan OpenStack User Group (JOSUG) was founded on October 22, 2010 with the goal sharing information and promoting the use of the [OpenStack] open source cloud software technologytechnology.

Initial Application Deadline

Sponsor applications will be accepted, in order of receipt, from 10:00 am Tuesday, October 1, 2013. Complete and return the attached [Sponsorship Application] Form to the Event Office by email or fax.

The initial application deadline is set as 15 November (Fri.) 2013. If you are unable to meet this deadline please contact the Event Office to confirm availability.
