Back to the Beginning
In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a
wind from God swept over the face of the waters. Genesis 1:1-2
For the coming weeks, we are going “back to the beginning” to
explore who God is and who we are meant to be as part of God’s creation. Ruach, in Hebrew, is God’s spirit or wind that hovered
over the waters and brought life. God’s word spoke light into darkness and order into chaos. As God’s children, created out of love and made in God’s image, we carry this loving creative spirit
into our world daily. May we carry God’s light and create beauty wherever we go by God’s spirit.
Peace,
Pastor Janet

preferred, but more important is a teachable attitude,
authentic faith, and positive team spirit. The position
is part time, with flexible hours 12-20 hours per week.

UMW Scholarship Opportunity: Attention graduates and continuing

scholarship is being offered to a
qualifying student. Please submit
your application, including proof of
graduating, college acceptance, transcripts, and a
brief description of credentials. Applications are
available in the church office.
Calling All Salty Servants
Thank you to those who turned in your salty
servant hours last week! These help our monthly
vital statistic counts with the UMC.
A Salty Servant ministers to someone outside their
church family for at least one hour per week. If you
have done that this week, please take a salty
servant card from the back of the pew and place it
in the offering plate, so we can include you in our
count.
Ideas for salty servants include visiting in nursing
homes or hospice, baking someone a cake, mowing
a neighbor’s lawn, sending out cards of
encouragement, helping a friend move, bringing
someone dinner, handing out a manna bag…
anything you do to love and serve others in the
name of Jesus!
Are you or someone you know struggling with
addiction for yourself or a
family member? Check out
this website for help:

Annual Conference. It will be divided between a
restart of the FAMU Wesley Foundation in Tallahassee
and planting a new church in Lowell Women’s Prison
in Reddick. See your bulletin insert for more info! And
please plan to support this worthy cause.

Belong Small Groups
Our Belong groups are a blessing to so many!
There is always an open chair saved for you. Join
us any time. Hear what people are saying about
how being in a Belong Group is impacting their
life every week:
"Our Belong group quickly formed bonds of
friendship & trust. I love our group sessions as we
all share and learn something new each week which
is always sprinkled with a bit of laughter."
-Pat Schwartz
“Our Belong Group is a place we can come together
to share our faith, our personal stories, our concerns,
our sorrows and joys, our prayers and praises, our
sisterhood and the joys of hearing about the amazing
answers to our prayers. We all look forward to
coming together for our Tuesday Morning in the
Gathering Room. -The Church Ladies
“I so enjoy the fellowship that comes with attending
my Belong group. Each time I’m there, I gain new
knowledge and different perspectives from other
people. It’s been an awesome experience for me so
far!” -Sue Wakelin
