Her Journey DeShown “Kesha” Starr was born December 26, 1995 in Gaston County, North Carolina to Joyce Hardin and Larry Desanto Starr, Jr. She went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 28, 2019 at Atrium Healthcare-CMC Charlotte. Kesha graduated from Clover High School in 2017 and was an upstanding citizen in her local community. She was an outgoing and loving li’l tomboy who could climb a tree with the best of them! She loved to play basketball, baseball. She loved her hair, getting her nails done and she was the “queen” of shopping. She brought happiness and joy to her family and was the light of their lives. She never gave up no matter what came her way – she had a stubborn determination to live and not die. She will be truly, truly missed and we thank God for the joy that she brought into our lives. She leaves to cherish fond memories her paternal grandpar-ents, Larry and Patricia Starr of Clover, SC (of the home); her parents Joyce Hardin of Gastonia, NC and Santo Starr (Jamia) of Clover, SC; maternal grandparents, William and Doris Barber of Gastonia, NC; five sisters Jessica Hardin of Gastonia, NC, DeAsia Starr, Milan Starr, DeKayla Starr of Rock Hill, SC, Ariyana Mingo of Clover, SC; two brothers, Larry Starr, Jr. of Rock Hill, SC and Kalyb Starr of Clover, SC; aunts, Kissah Davis of Gastonia, NC, Marquita Ensley (Mario) of Chula Vista, California; uncles, Samuel Starr, Antonio Starr (Danita), Bernard Starr, Tremaine Duvant of Clover, SC, JeVaughn Starr of Concord, NC, Joice Hardin and Derrick Funderburk, of Gastonia, NC; one special friend Torqueze Durham and one special life-long friend, Marquis “Smookers” Hopper and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.

*The feelings are unreal* The feelings will always feel unreal We knew this day was coming, but still the feelings is unreal. I was unprepared mentally and physically for a short deport but still the feelings is unreal, I know for a fact that your beautiful smile and sprit will always be with me! But still the feelings are unreal nobody in this world will understand the pain and suffering you went through and never did you complain you was so strong for a long time, but still the feelings is unreal, I know God gives his strongest and toughest battle's to his brightest soldiers. Even though the feelings are unreal, I think God you was a huge part of my life. I find peace knowing that you are no longer suffering. I love you now and forever. Even though the feelings are unreal and today is the last day I will see you in flesh, I know I always have you in my heart and your spirits always around, fly high baby girl until we meet again love always.
…and to my baby, sleep on and take your rest
Love, Granny and Paw Paw
