Veterans’ Day
By Victoria M. & Lauren I. Veterans’ Day was once known as
“Armistice Day” after the first anniversary of the end of World War
1. Congress declared for this celebration to happen every year, and Nov. 11 became the holiday of Veterans’ Day in 1938. Students at
SIS will be having a ceremony on Nov.11 to honor their veterans.

Thanksgiving Holiday!
By: Lauren I. Thanksgiving is November 24th, a
Thursday. Thanksgiving is a time for love and sharing. You meet up with family and friends and share a meal
together. Give thanks to others. turkey, corn, and ham are a few
favorites you eat on Thanksgiving. We will be out of school November
21st-25th for Thanksgiving Holiday!
Activity!
By: Emerson G. In Library we will be learning a little bit about the history of Veterans’ Day and a reading contest called “Off The Shelf”. In Music, we will be with PE to complete our square
dancing portion of the year. We will be re-learning the sign language to the song “God Bless The USA” and the “Military Medley”. In Art, we will
continue the nature and fall subject.

Thriving Third By Brayden W.
In the month of November, 3rd graders will be learning some cool
things. In Math, they will be working on rounding and multiplication
strategies. In Science, students will study force and motion. Also, in
English and Social Studies, they will be studying Parts of Speech and
conducting research by taking and organizing notes. They are learning
creative, inventive, and notable people in biographies.
Fantastic Fourth
By Austin W. In Math, the Fantastic Fourth will be learning about Operations of Whole Numbers. In Social Studies, they will
be learning about the regions of Arkansas and the United States. In Science, they will be learning about
the structure function of plants and animals. Last but not least, in English and Reading/Writing, they will learn
about compound sentences and Nonfiction text features and
structures.
Famous Fifth grade
By Luci B. For the month of November, Fifth
grade will be learning matter in Science. In English and Social
Studies, they will be learning about the 13 colonies , finishing Blood on
the River, the New England colonies, and research writing. In Math, they will be learning about building whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Fifth grade will have an exciting month of November!
Super Sixth
By Lilly B. This month, the Super Sixth will be writing spooky stories and getting
their hands dirty as they dig up some myths and tales. They will also be doing affix study and improving
their narrative writing skills. In Math, they will be finishing rate
proportions. The Super Sixth will be diving into expressions this month.
In Science, they will be learning forces in motion . In Social Studies,
the sixth graders will be going back to the past to Ancient Greece.
