Our recent outage, my apologies
I just wanted to apologize for the "unorganized" outage yesterday. Our server host was moving
to a new data center and I had been working so much recently, I missed the notice via email that
this was happening. As a result, I was not able to effectively communicate to all of you what was
happening. For that, you have my apologies. Over the course of the last 8 days, work has been a
little insane (total number of hours worked) and I have been suffering from a bit of tunnel vision.
I was able to get a notice up on my Facebook page, but I realize not everyone has an account
there.
On the funny side (according to the comments I have seen from some members), at least the
haters, bashers and lards got some good conspiracy theories out of the "event"! LOL!

Thanks for the info. Was busy most of the day yesterday myself and did not have much time to
view the site anyways.

Not to worry!
I took a ride, and visited with friends.

I thought it might be my computer, then server, did I say something BAD, and then withdrawl.
I would never have thought I could become attached to anything on a computer or cell phone.

I had given up after the third try (during the course of 1 hour), I thought it was on my end, so at
that point I went about my business.

Yep, evidently you and Jim are no longer employed, Invicta and Shop have severed all ties,
WG's is no longer a forum, federal agents have taken control of WG's and I believe the world
will come to an end in a day or so...Amazing what you can learn on the more reputable
sites...LOL...

No worries. It's a good thing when users notice downtime. It shows the site was missed.

Thanks Michael but apologies are not necessary!
From a person who consistently works 100+ hrs/wk, I completely understand what you are
experiencing and how mentally and physically exhausting it is. I certainly empathize. During
these times, we generally do not have control of our schedules, it those we are accountable to. I
certainly hope you get some much needed "decompression" time and can enjoy the fruits of your
dedication, commitment, loyalty & labor!!
Take care of yourself & best wishes.

Haters, bashers and lards are those at other sites that, after we lost our server host, immediately
started posting crap like Jim and I had some how been fired by our respective employers. They
posted that SNBC had some how "caught on" to whatever nefarious plans we have here at
WatchGeeks and pulled the plug on us. I think one idiot posted that we had been raided by "the
Feds" (again, must be those nefarious plans and activities we have here). One guy posted that we
did it on purpose to some how teach members a lesson. One claimed that I was too self
important to do anything about the issue (even though it was an issue with our hosting service).
It all stems from one forum more or less. They are made up mostly of people banned from here
that have nothing better to do with their life than to start a forum to bash WatchGeeks, me and
Jim on a daily basis. They come here with fake accounts, copy our posts, paste them at their site
and then take joy in the fact that they can make stupid comments and drop the F-Bomb every
other word.
They have attacked one of our members here and made fun of his disabled family member. They
have attacked another over how much money he makes.
They are good for a laugh about once a week.

Thanks for the information, and for the time and effort you put into the care and feeding,
Michael. The brief loss served as an interesting reminder that we all do rely on it, and on the
contact it affords with the many friends gathered here.
Glad we're back online!
