ONE YOUTH MINISTRY (OYM) TRAINING AT ST. TRAINING AT ST. THOMAS CHURCH IN DAGORATE:

Introduction: On the 28th February, we were privileged to conduct 3D’s (Discover, Develop and

Deploy), awareness at St. Thomas church at Dagorate Corner. This took the whole day

of creating an awareness and introduction of the D3’s materials to youth from the

church and the local school (Hidden Talent secondary school).

We had a fairly good turn out of 19 youth/ young adult. James Kweyu and I were

privileged to bring to their attention that there is hope for young people who are coming

up. First and foremost, is trusting in God who is the author and finisher of our lives and

therefore, accepting Jesus Christ to be your savior is the first thing for any young person

who intend to realize his/ her purpose and pursuit of life in the same way as it was

intended from the first person Adam.

Secondly, we were creating awareness of the CMS Africa and the programs we are

offering to churches and communities at large. James was able to articulate here very

well from the vision and mission of CMS Africa and her programs that covers all ages

across Africa.

Thirdly, we conducted an introduction of the 3D’s and how it can turn around the life

young people in Africa. This included an introduction of each program and what one can

gain from taking initiative and going through the manual as a group.

1) To discover the gifts and talents God created in them plus the knowledge and

wisdom, then developing them to be of essence use. In other words, narrowing them to

what they feel they cannot afford not to accomplish here on earth and finally deploying

them to benefit first and foremost him/herself, church and the community at large.

Challenges: We ended the meeting with a challenge to them to organize a group of at least five and

we shall be ready to begin the empowerment program with them. We are looking

forward to beginning that training and empowerment process with them.

For us to enhance this program and the church around Africa, there is a need to

develop manpower (TOT) and the greatest challenge is financial constraint. We,

therefore, are looking for any individuals or organizations to partner with us in

supporting the TOTs and in so doing, assist us in remaining focused on our goals of

renewing the mindset and transforming hearts.

Recommendations: There is a high need of renewing the mindset and transforming the heart of many youth

and young adults in Africa. The training system, promised job after studies and now so

many young people in Africa are jobless. Therefore, there is a need of this program to

be able to spread across Africa with this message of hope for young people.

ONE YOUTH MINISTRY AFRICA TRANSFORMING THE LIVES OF THE ORPHANED, WIDOWS AND POOR CHILDREN THROUGH DRESSES AND CLOTHS

Introduction: In the month of December 2014 and January 2015, One Youth Ministry Africa (OYM-

Africa) was privileged to donate cloths to various children, including orphans in schools,

homes and Lodwor town in North Rift Kenya. We delayed to release this report due to

the fact that OYM- Africa lost cameras and videos for the second time (the first time we

also lost our laptops). Our volunteer team was hijacked and robbed of everything they

were carrying including video and cameras. Therefore, we lost a lot of photos and that

is why we could not send this report in time.

The pictures we have here are from the school, we sent the remaining cloths to be

given to the sixty orphaned children studying at Amaf primary school.

There is a high need of cloths and dresses to be distributed and as a way of showing

the love of God to many young people living in Africa. We are trusting that one day we

shall see many young people looking respectful and “cool” just like the way many other

kids look like from other families. We also are looking at ways to enhance our

partnership with The Little Dress for Africa Charity and as we promised from the first

time, we shall remain faithful to the donors and to the communities we reach out to.

Therefore, we look forward to enhancing our partnership with you and please forgive us

for not writing on time. And we promise next time to write promptly as the pictures come

in.
