02 ACHIEVEMENTS

• Project has substantially contributed to the joint (EUROCAE and RTCA)

development of the AeroMACS profile based on mobile WiMAX standard

• Extensive simulations have been carried out to validate the AeroMACS profile

• AeroMACS ground prototypes/mock-ups testbed platforms developed. Testbed

will support laboratory and airport tests within the integration and testing activities

• Hardware prototypes are delivered to further validate the profile and confirm the

simulation results and support both laboratory and Toulouse airport tests

• AeroMACS system implementation document delivered, including Ground

Prototypes Description and Verification Objectives and Verification Strategy that

supports the Integration and Testing activities

• Support to standardisation bodies for AeroMACS profile standardisation: Eurocae

WG-82, RTCA SC-223, ICAO WG-S and Wimax Forum (AWG)

• Ongoing coordination with US/FAA
