The HP Series cel- ebrates its 30th anniversary this year, and the 10,000th HP cone crusher unit was handed over to the French aggregates and asphalt producer and urban infrastructure development company Eurovia in a ceremony held at Metso’s Mâcon facility in France. “The HP is undoubtedly one of Metso’s most widely used innovations. It’s a technology that has been evolving throughout the years to meet customers’ changing needs, making their operations more successful through proven per- formance and reliable output. That’s most likely why HP has become an industry standard for a variety of aggregates and mining applications,” said Arto Halonen, vice president, aggregates crushers at Metso. The origin of the HP Series cone crusher can be tracked back to Milwaukee in the early to mid-1980s. The technolog- ical breakthroughs by the Nordberg research program re- defined crushing performance and provided the basis for a new type of cone crusher introduced in 1989: the Nordberg high-performance cone crusher series, today simply known as the HP. Today, HP cone crushers are engineered and manufac- tured in Metso’s competence center in Mâcon, France, with manufacturing also in Brazil, China and India. A versatile crusher is ideal for wide range of fixed and mobile applica- tions, varying from limestone to taconite and ballast produc- tion to manufactured sand. “Know-how from developing the HP and from thousands and thousands of customer applications around the world has played an integral part in Metso research and development initiatives in crushing. This is an important milestone for Metso and we want to thank our customers for their contin- ued confidence in us during the first 30 years of the HP’s journey and look forward to explore new development pos- sibilities in the years to come,” Halonen said. The low operating cost and high per- formance of the Triple Deck 820 Vibro-King TL Portable Screen Plant makes it paramount for screening applications in mining, heavy-duty aggregate processing and sizing, recy- cling asphalt and concrete products. The 820 Vibro-King TL design creates flexibility, outstanding performance and longevity for heavy-duty scalping of coarse stone, fine sizing of finished products and wet or dry processing. The 820 Vibro-King TL Portable Screen Plant deck size is 8 ft.x 20 ft., and can be configured with other mobile plants to create a complete aggregates processing system. The 820 is part of Telsmith’s Vibro- King TL screen lineup that comes in a range of sizes and is the most reliable, low maintenance inclined screen in the mining and aggregates industries today. Modern screen media takes many forms and is critical to achieving opti- mum performance, so Telsmith builds each screen around the media selected for the application. With safety and uptime engineered into them, each deck can be custom selected for a dif- ferent media type. The deck frames have been specifi- cally designed for performance and endurance with each media type including side tension wire cloth, ure- thane or rubber, modular urethane or rubber panels, punch plate or steel backed rubber. The TL Never-Wear sealing system eliminates the need for contact lip seals. Large shaft casing provides increased oil volumes. A snap-in, urethane labyrinth seal keeps dust out and elim- inates the downtime and expense of repairing worn seals or shaft grooves. The Telsmith modular approach with 130 mm, 160 mm, and 200 mm bearing vibrator mechanisms is avail- able in single and dual shaft assem- blies, allowing outstanding flexibility and range. The Vibro-King TL is fea- ture-packed and built to deliver low- cost performance. The simple 820 Portable Plant start- up allows for crushing operations to begin within hours. To achieve this, Telsmith designed a simple user-friendly Motor Starter control panel. The control panel is UL certified, NEMA4 rated and pro- vides a main circuit breaker, motor starters for plant motors, and 4 extra 20 hp motor starters for off-plant conveyors. Telsmith engineered and manufac- tured chassis provide ease of mobility and strength to handle the vibrations of screening applications. The 820 portable chassis offers 16 in. x 50 in. WF Main beams, fifth wheel plate, equipment supports, and cribbing legs that are easily adjusted for quick setup and mobilization. Telsmith offers chassis compliance with all 50 states’ on-highway regula- tions. The 820 standard chassis includes tandem axles and highway towing kit with 25,000 lb. axles, air brakes, walking beam axle support, (8) 11R22.5 tires, mud flaps and lights with reflectors. Total transport weight and dimensions for the standard con- figuration are 65,000 lbs. and 43 ft. 10 in. L x 12 ft. W x 13 ft. 4 in. H. For more information, visit www.telsmith.com.
