With bidders from 53 countries, approxi- mately 84 percent of the equipment in the auc- tion was sold to out-of-state buyers, from as far away as South Africa, Korea and the United Kingdom. Online bidders purchased approxi- mately 55 percent of the equipment sold (by dollar value). More than 2,900 equipment items and trucks were sold in the auction, including 69 excava- tors, 30-plus skid steers, more than 30 loaders, 10 dozers, 180 aerial work platforms, more than 80 dump trucks, 180 truck tractors and more. All items were sold without minimum bids or reserve prices. CEG Sam Foster, vice president of Cedar Lane Excavations, Davidsonville, Md., was a kid in a candy shop sitting in the cab of this Caterpillar D8T. A Caterpillar dozer awaits a new owner during the auction. During the auction, 180 aerial work platforms went to the highest bidder.
