Mr. Lamsam holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University, USA and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Harvard University, USA. Associate Professor Simon SC Tay Chairman SINGAPORE INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS Associate Professor Simon SC Tay is a public intellectual as well as an advisor to major corporations and policy-makers. He is Chairman of the Singapore Institute of International Affairs, the country’s oldest think tank and founding member of the ASEAN network of think-tanks. An independent, civic institution, the SIIA is ranked by an international survey a leading think tank in Asia. He is concurrently a tenured Associate Professor, teaching international law at the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law. He has also taught as a visiting professor at Harvard Law School, the Fletcher School and Yale University. Prof. Tay is also Senior Consultant at WongPartnership, a leading Asian law firm of some 300 lawyers and with offices in Singapore, China and the Middle East, and practices that cover the key economies in ASEAN. He serves as independent director or advisor on boards for global companies, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group of Japan and the LGT Private Bank, and three leading companies in the region, Far East Organization and Hyflux Ltd of Singapore, and Top Glove Corporation of Malaysia. His previous corporate appointments include the Toyota Motor Corporation Global Advisory Board (2010-2015) and a Corporate Advisor to Temasek Holdings (2006-2009). From 1992 to 2008, he served in a number of public appointments for Singapore, serving as Chairman of the National Environment Agency, reporting to the Minister (2002-2008); an independent Member of Parliament (1997-2001). He is a prize winning author of fiction and poetry. In 2010, his novel City of Small Blessings was awarded the Singapore Literature Prize and his most recent collection of stories, Middle & First, was published this year. He also holds Master in Law from Harvard Law School (1993-1994), which he attended on a Fulbright Scholarship and where he won the Laylin prize for the best thesis in international law.

Mr. Vivek Pathak

Director, East Asia and the Pacific INTERNATIONAL FINANCE CORPORATION

Mr. Vivek Pathak was appointed IFC Regional Director for East Asia and the Pacific in October 2014. He has extensive emerging markets experience in principal investments, restructuring and risk management across all industry sectors. Mr. Pathak joined IFC in 1998 and has since covered Asia Pacific, Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia in various leadership capacities. Based in Hong Kong, Mr. Pathak leads IFC’s advisory and investment operations across 18 countries, which in fiscal year 2017 reached $2.9 billion in long-term investments, including funds mobilized from other investors. Previously, he served as IFC Director for Investment and Credit Risk based in Washington, DC, managing a team of seasoned professionals responsible for global coverage of credit risk, investment risk, integrity risk, pricing and credit/equity training. Prior to that, he oversaw IFC’s portfolio in the Middle East and North Africa, and led IFC’s business development efforts in frontier markets like Afghanistan, Iraq and Iran. Before joining IFC, Mr. Pathak worked with Bank of America and ABN AMRO Bank in new business and risk management. In his capacity as Head of Risk Management at ABN AMRO Bank Thailand, he was responsible for managing a large and diverse portfolio during the Asian Financial Crisis. Mr. Pathak holds a Master’s degree in Management from the University of Mumbai, India.

Mr. Roger Charles

Director, Environmental and Social Risk Management STANDARD CHARTERED PLC

Mr. Roger Charles is currently a Director in the Environmental and Social Risk Management team for Standard Chartered PLC in Singapore. In his current role, he is responsible for delivering technical environmental and safety expertise to business transactions and clients globally, ensuring project financing adheres to international

standards on sustainability and best practice. He has developed in-depth expertise in several sectors and geographies such as thermal power (coal, heavy fuel oil and gas), renewables, oil & gas, mining, chemicals and manufacturing, and agri-industries including Forestry and Palm Oil. With over 15 years’ experience as a health, safety and environmental (HSE) professional, Mr. Charles has broad international experience, having spent many years in Europe, Africa and South-East Asia in various roles within the Oil and Gas industry. He joined Standard Chartered Bank in September 2015 from Tullow Oil plc, where he was the technical HSE Lead for the Ghana TEN Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) project. Previously, he held various roles in Uganda, Kenya and Mauritania and South Africa, delivering leadership and guidance to field operations teams, government agencies and local communities. His areas of specialization include technical environmental and safety engineering, environmental and social Impact Assessment (ESIA), occupational safety and group sustainability. Originally from London, UK, Roger has been resident in Singapore since 2011. He holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Environmental Sciences from the University of Greenwich and is currently pursuing chartered status from the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).

Dr. Sittivaekin's expertise covers economic, business and social issues. With his solid working with global and local leading corporates such as BMW (for 7 years), Siam Commercial Bank as head of Corporate communications enabled him to view issues comprehensively with 360 degrees perspective. Wit obtained all of his degrees in Political Science (B. Pol Sci. 1st Class Honor at Chulalongkorn University, MSc. at the LSE (UK), and a Ph.D. in the same discipline at the University of Southampton.
