Mari also explained that this is the year of MICE for Indonesia where many activities held ranging from APEC, other international conven-tions, to Miss World in Bali.

A number of world concerts that attract a lot of visitors are also held this year including Air Sup-ply- World Tour Asia 2013, Super Junior, Lenka Live in Concert in Bali, Bandung and Jakarta.

“In addition, there are a lot of international con-vention activities held in Indonesia such as the East Asian Mining Exploration Conference in Bali and Bintan Triathlon 2013, which was attended by participants from Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, and Japan,” she said.

The Ministry also analyzes the development of religious tourism that have a positive impact such as the celebration of Vesak at the Borobudur Tem-ple 2557, which also boosted foreign tourists visit.

Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has

set 2013 target of foreign tourists visit in three scenarios namely pessimistic target of 8.3 mil-lion, a moderate target of 8.6 million, and the opti-mistic target of 8.9 million tourist visits. Thematic tourism development including MICE will be one of the main focuses so that the target can be achieved optimally, Mari Elka Pangestu said.

estu explaind some core activities held during August-November, 2013, which include Creative Arts and Cultural Parade in Jakarta on August 18 to 19 to celebrate the Indonesian Independence Day, Art Summit Indonesia VII on october 8 to 26 in Jakarta, Solo and Bali to celebrate the APEC 2013 (Asia Pacific Economy Cooperation), and the holding of IPAM (Indonesia Performing Arts Market) in Jakarta on November 13 to 16, and Indonesia Creative Products Week (PPKI) 2013 that will take place in Jakarta Epicentrum on 28 November to 1 December 2013. “We make PPKI 2013 as the peak event for the creative months,” Mari said.

Implementation of PPKI 2013 will have the theme of “yang Kreatif yang Berdaya Saing” (The Creative The Competitive) that is expected to inspire young people to be creative and move creative people to drive creative economy.

PPKI 2013 will be an excellent convention by featuring 85 speakers from within and outside the country, as well as be an exhibition attended by 200 booths of creative products, and venue for 70 creative performances. The organizing com-mittee is targeting the number of visitors in PPKI 2013 as many as 85,000 visitors.

Jakarta Provincial government plans to change the Ragunan into a world-class zoo. Vice governor of Jakarta Tjahaja Basuki

Purnama said that the provincial government wants Ragunan to become world-class zoo, such as the Singapore Zoo which is quite famous. From the many reports he received, the current conditions of Ragunan zoo should be taken into concern, because many animals and cages are not well cared.

“And, in fact every year we always allocate certain budget for the zoo’s maintenance. This year, we’ve allocated Rp 40 billion specifically for Ragunan, “Basuki said.

He further said that in addition to the condi-tions that are not well maintained, Basuki also

considered the management of Ragunan zoo to be still lacked of transparency. So there is not any clear information regarding the use of the budget that has been allocated by the city gov-ernment.

“Therefore, we appoint a new person as the Chief Supervisory of Ragunan. We hope he can manage the zoo as well as possible in a trans-parent manner, “Basuki said.

Provincial government appointed business-man Hashim Djojohadikusomo as Chief Super-visory of Ragunan to improve conditions of the zoo. Besides assigned to care for the animals there, Hashim is also assigned to conduct an audit of the budget and the zoo land. (*)

“The number of tourist visit in Bromo and Semeru during school holiday increased significantly. Total visits reached more than 50 thousand people during June 2013,” said Head of the Balai Besar Bromo Teng-ger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) Ayu Dewi Utari.

According to her, the number of tourist visits to Mount Bromo is still more than the number of visits to Semeru because climb-ing to the highest volcano on the island of Java requires a good physical condition.

“During the holidays, on normal days the average number of visits is as many as 1,000 people and on Saturday and Sunday rose at an average of 5,000 people. How-ever, on a normal day the number of visits is less than 500 people per day,” she said.

An increasing number of visitors, she added, also resulted in an increase in the amount of waste dumped carelessly by

tourists, thereby disrupting the ecosystem in the area of Bromo Tengger Semeru Na-tional Park.

“I encourage visitors to have the aware-ness to protect the environment by not throwing trash in any place that can dam-age ecosystems in TNBTS region,” she said.

Ayu said that officers still encounter visitor vehicles other than four wheel 4x4 jeep crossed the savanna and sea sand of Mount Bromo. The management of TNT-BS restricts the types of passing vehicles to maintaining regional ecosystems. “With these restrictions, four-wheeled vehicles that pass are less than 1,000 units per day,” she said.

“During June, three incidents were re-corded, one Semeru climbers died of a heart attack and two accidents,” she said.

Watching the sunrise This is the main reason tourists com-

ing to Bromo. As the night slowly changed into morning, a view of some fascinating volcanoes complete with its magical ap-peal has attracted and amazed a lot of people.

Then toward morning Tengger peo-ple bring offerings to the top of Mount Bro-mo crater and throw the offerings into the crater and pray for prosperity and safety.

5,000 Convention Tourists to Attend APEC Summit 2013

Indonesian people love retro food (49%) when compared with the other coun-tries surveyed. In South Korea, only

19% of the population still fond of this type of food.

The reason of Indonesian people love retro food is because it is reminiscent of past memories or childhood time. It also cannot be separated from the culture of the nation, which is communal dine.

These are the results of the survey con-ducted by Ipsos global @ dvisor omnibus, a market research company. The survey result also mentions that 51% of respon-dents chose food from a different region or culture. Then, 49% chose retro / vintage food, 34% chose self-cooked meal, 24% of respondents chose foods with restaurant brands available in stores and 15% chose

foods made by famous chef.Apparently, the Indonesian’s favorite

food is processed food with hand-made quality, which is chosen by 61% of respon-dents. only 10% of South Koreans partici-pated in this survey chose packaged foods because they prefer the artisanal dishes packed locally and is available in purchase line.

In the statement mentioned that the ma-jority of Indonesian people regard the qual-ity of hand-made processed food can be accounted for and it is a delicious product and believe that there are “experts” who are involved in the manufacturing process.

Category of foods of different cultures and area is the most favored by Australians (61%) and the least in demand by South Korean people (20%). Self-cooked food is

favored by most South Koreans (55%) and the least by the Japanese (28%).

Retro culinary is still a favorite among Indonesian people

Sawahlunto local governments and stakeholders in the region are able to transform the mining area into a tourist destination with many amenities. Support of homestay

and a number of hotels in the region could boost tourist traffic of about 14,000 people in 2004 to as many as 742 000 people in June 2013.

Sawahlunto Homestay Association implements the standard of rooms and the service of Indonesian Association of Hotels and Restaurants (PHRI) with a relatively affordable price rang-ing from Rp70.000 up to 250,000. Sawahlunto until now has at least 53 homestay with as many as 116 units of rooms avail-able.

Not only given accommodation and food, those who are stay-ing in a homestay also receive a warm and friendly atmosphere of Minangkabau tadition, as well as a tempting tour packages.

According to Sawahlunto Mayor Amran Nur, homestay in Sawahlunto has been proven to be successful in providing ad-equate accommodation for tourists, coupled with the support of tourist attractions and events. tourism potential in the province of Papua and West Papua held at Discovery Shopping Mall, Kuta - Bali on 5 to 7 July 2013.

Direct Promotion activities undertaken for other regions in Indonesia, and takes place every year, is part of an effort to encourage the movement of domestic tourists in the country in a series of programs titled “Won-derful Indonesia” and “Know your country loved your country ‘(KNCN).

“Tourist destinations in the two provinces are very exotic. Both provinces offer natural landscapes, including coral reefs that are well preserved. Raja Ampat is well known tourist attraction, especially among tourists who like diving, because nearly 70% of coral reefs can be found there,” he said.

He further said that the targeted tourists are quality tourists, since it gives priority to the preservation of nature. As more and more travelers who pay little attention to the environment, it is considered to bring nega-tive impact to the environment.

The event is held to commemorate 200 years of the eruption of Mount Tambora.

Sarongge village in Cianjur, West Java, which people was originally predominantly vegetable growers will

Minister of Tourism and Creative Econo-my (Menparekraf), Mari Elka Pangestu said that she supports Sarongge as one of main ecotourism destinations in Indonesia, and the first program is the homestay coaching.

“Sarongge village is suitable to be devel-oped as ecotourism,” said Mari Elka Pang-estu, while attending Sarongge Festival in Ciputri village, Pacet district, Cianjur regen-cy recently.

Sarongge Festival itself was held over two days, 29-30 June 2013. During the two-day event, many events were held. Tourists and local communities could participate in a camping activity and then trekking on the

next day or if they do not want to stay in, they could watch the diverse cultures performed, such as martial arts, Jaipong dance, puppet show, and so in Saung Sarongge.

“The program developed in the Village of Sarongge brings positive impact on tourism and the creative economy, especially from the aspect of sustainability as maintaining the environmental balance, and provide direct benefits to the villagers,” said Mari Pangestu.

At Saung Sarongge visitors can learn about organic farming, tree nurseries, farms, and be creative with the local PKK. The most visited booth during the festival was bazaar that sold crafts, food, livestock and planta-tions from Sarongge village.

“We encourage farmers who have more room for homestay. There are 15 houses, and were fully occupied during this festival,” said Tosca Santoso, initiator of Sarongge Festival.

Sarongge Festival is expected to be a routine activity every year before the holi-days. “We want to introduce the potential of Kampung Sarongge and Sundanese culture to the world community, the coexistence be-tween humans and nature,” said Daya.

In the event Menparekraf also had the opportunity to check one of the homestay located in Sarongge. It is part of the serious-ness of the government in encouraging tour-ism sector.

According to Mari, this time the people’s choice for a vacation to the natural attrac-tions increased than before. It is based on the results of a survey conducted some time ago. Therefore, she said, the government will encourage the development of nature tourism especially in Sarongge.

“The trend of people travel is changing. They are not just shopping or sleeping in luxury hotels, but also getting interesting, unique, and healthy experiences. Currently there are 2,000 tourism villages in Indonesia that receive coaching from Ministry of Tour-ism and Creative Economy,” said Mari.

Director of Environment and Nature Ser-vices, Ministry of Forestry (MoF) Bambang Supriyanto, said MoF encourage the devel-opment of tourist village Sarongge. This de-velopment will encourage the preservation of protected areas in the National Park of Mount gede Pangrango (TNggP). Villagers will preserve the nature around them. (*)

International cycling tournament Tour de Singkarak (TdS) 2013 had ended last month. TdS which this year was held for the fifth

time in West Sumatra earned high praise from the international community. In addition to the increased mileage and increased prize, the organizing also became increasingly qualified.

Twenty five cultural parks from all over Indonesia gathered to unite mantra in Jambi. But, this meeting is not to figure

out which one is the most powerful mantra. The whole power of mantras colored each other the event titled Indonesian Cultural Park Summit 2013 in the City of Jambi on 4 to 8 June 2013.

The event carried out the theme of “The Power of Mantra in Indonesian Cultural Perspective”. 25 Cultural parks to Unite Mantra in Jambi

Indonesia prepares to host an international puppet show titled “Wayang World Puppet Carnival”

on 4 to 6 September 2013, the festival will be followed by more than 40 countries, including Indonesia.

Indonesia Holds ‘Wayang World Puppet Carnival 2013’

Located in the Java Sea, precisely in the northern city of Semarang, marine national

park is made up of 27 small islands, where only seven of which are inhabited. The main islands are Karimunjawa, Kemujan, Menjangan Besar and Menjangan Kecil.

Dirjen Pengembangan Destinas Pariwisata (Dirjen PDP) Kementerian Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif

(Kemenparekraf) Firmansyah Rahim mengatakan, pengelolaan destinasi pariwisata melalui tata kelola terpadu atau DMo (Destination Management organization) selain untuk meningkatkan daya saing pariwisata juga mensejahteraan masyarakat lokal di sekitar daya tarik wisata.

“Tata kelola destinasi pariwisata terpadu (DMo) mengedepankan sinergisitas semua stake holder pariwisata, termasuk dengan masyaraka lokal agar mendapatkan man-faat dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan mereka,” kata Firmansyah Rahim ketika membuka “Konsinyering Dalam Rangka Peningkatan Kualitas Pengelolaan Destina-si Pariwisata Melalui Program DMo” yang diselenggarakan Direktorat Perancangan Destinasi dan Investasi Pariwisata, Ditjen PDP bersama Forum Wartawan Parekraf di Hotel Jayakarta, Jakarta, Rabu (3/7) lalu.

Firmansyah mengatakan, program DMo diterapkan di 15 daerah destinasi pariwisata di seluruh Indonesia dalam kurung waktu lima tahun 2010 hingga 2014.

“Sebagian besar dari 15 DMo saat ini sudah berada dalam tahap pengembangan manajemen destinasi, dan sebagian sudah ada yang memasuki tahap penguatan dan penataan organisiasi pengelolaan destinasi atau memasuki tahap transnformasi DMo keempat,” kata Firmansyah.

Kesempatan sama, Frans Teguh, Kabag Perencanaan & Kerjasama Destinasi Pari-wisata Kemenparekraf mengatakan DMo berupaya mengoptimalkan potensi yang ada di destinasi-destinasi parwisata yang dipilih Kemenparekraf. Diharapkan pula dengan DMo, destinasi tersebut dapat se-makin dikenal dan dikunjungi semakin ban-yak wisatawan. “Tanda keberhasilan DMo itu adalah semakin tertatanya destinasi wisata tersebut,” katanya.

Frans juga menambahkan bahwa kuanti-tas kunjungan alias banyaknya wisatawan yang datang ke suatu destinasi menanda-kan keberhasilan program DMo di destinasi tersebut. “Tapi jangan lupa, selain kuantitas wisatawan tersebut juga harus berkualitas, misalnya tinggal di satu destinasi lebih lama atau memberikan banyak pemasukan bagi destinasi dan masyarakat sekitarnya,” jelas Frans.

Lokot mengatakan, pariwisata bersifat lintas batas atau tidak mengenal batas ad-ministratif. Di samping itu, pariwisata me-libatkan elemen-elemen yang saling ber-hubungan satu sama lain sehingga perlu sistem pengelolaan destinasi. Dalam hal ini target pencapaian DMo harus didasar-kan pada target ekonomi, lingkungan, sosial budaya, dan kualitas pengelolaan destinasi, “DMo harus diterapkan dengan strategi koordinasi, melibatkan seluruh pemangku kepentingan, kemitraan, kepentingan dan tujuan bersama, serta memiliki indikator dan kinerja,” katanya.

DMo pada dasarnya, kata Lokot, bertu-juan untuk meningkatkan kualitas destinasi dan jumlah kunjungan wisatawan mela-lui pengelolaan destinasi pariwisata yang berkelanjutan. “Dengan begitu kondisi des-tinasi kita pada masa depan menjadi lebih baik,” katanya.

Ia mencontohkan, destinasi bisa mening-kat menjadi berskala internasional bila telah memenuhi indikator di antaranya dikenal secara internasional, dikunjungan wisman, memiliki akses internasional (fisik/nonfisik), dan memenuhi standar internasional dari sisi kebersihan hingga kenyamanan.

Sebanyak 15 destinasi pariwisata yang dikembangkan dengan konsep DMo meli-puti Kota Tua Jakarta, Pangandaran (Jabar), Borobudur (Jateng), Bromo-Tengger-Se-meru (Jatim), Toba (Sumut), dan Sabang (NAD). DMO Tingkatkan Daya Saing dan Sejahterakan Masyarakat di Sekitar Daya Tarik Wisata

Sebanyak 130 kapal layar telah mendaftar sebagai peserta Sail Komodo 2013 yang dipusatkan di Labuan Bajo, ibukota Kabupaten Manggarai Barat,

Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT). Kepala Dinas Budaya dan Pariwisata Provinsi NTT Abraham Klakik mengatakan Sail Komodo yang kini tengah berlangsung dan puncaknya pada 14 September mendatang. Peserta sail bertolak dari Darwin, Australia dan tiba di Kupang pada 29 Juli. Di Kupang peserta akan dibawa berkeliling ke sejumlah lokasi wisata. Setiap kapal layar ditempati sekitar lima orang.

“Ada juga peserta Sail Komodo yang bertolak dari Fil-ipina, Malaysia dan Singapura. Di Kota Kupang penyem-butan peserta dilakukan pada akhir Juli. Jika satu kapal diikuti lima orang, peserta Sail Komodo sedikitnya 600 orang. Diharapkan jumlah tersebut bertambah menjelang pelepasan peserta sail dari Darwin,” ujarnya.

Dikatakan, sedangkan dari Kupang, peserta sail akan terbagai jadi dua yakni yang berlayar melalui jalur selatan dan yang berlayar melalui jalur utara. Untuk jalur utara, peserta berlayar ke Belu, Alor, Lembata, Flores Timur, Maumere, Ende, Nagekeo, Riung dan Ngada, terakhir di Labuan Bajo.

“Adapun jalur selatan melalui Rote, Sabu, Sumba Timur, Sumba Tengah, Manggarai Timur dan Labuan Bajo. Rata-rata di setiap titik labuh para peserta Sail Komodo akan singgah selama tiga hingga hari,” kata Abraham. (*)

Aktris Hollywood gwyneth Paltrow diam-diam berlibur ke Pulau Komodo, Nusa Tenggara Timur pada Mei lalu.

gwyneth pun sepertinya tak akan pernah melupakan liburannya selama di sana. Dalam situs pribadi miliknya, goop.com, istri Chris Martin itu menyebut perjalanannya ke Pulau Komodo sebagai mimpi yang terwujud. “Mimpi saya terwujud saat saya melakukan perjalanan ke Indonesia untuk pertama kalinya,” tulisnya.

Gwyneth Paltrow Liburan ke Pulau Komodo

Bandara Komodo di Labuan Bajo, Manggarai Barat, Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) bakal didarati pesawat Boeing kelas 737, pada September 2013. Kini,

pengerjaan perpanjangan landasan pacu dan pemotongan dua bukit dipangkal di dekat bandara tengah dikerjakan.

Kepala Bandara Komodo Labuan Bajo, Fuadani di Labuan Bajo mengatakan bandara Komodo saat ini sepa-njang 1.850 meter, nanti menjadi 2.150 meter. Sekarang sepanjang 300 meter sedang dikerjakan. Selain mengerja-kan landasan, juga mengusur dua bukit dekat pantai yang tak jauh dari pangkalan bandara yakni bukit Kelumpang dan Bukit Cinta.

“Kita sedang meratakan Bukit Kelumpang, tak lama lagi selesai dan akan langsung mengerjakan Bukit Cinta. Targetnya Bandara Komodo bisa didarati pesawat Boeing 737. Itu berarti pas Sail Komodo Bandara Komodo bisa didarati pesawat garuda Boeing 737 yang ditumpangi ba-pak Presiden RI. Selain itu, pembenahan terminal Ban-dara Komodo juga tengah dilakukan, dengan membangun terminal Bandara Komodo seluas bangunan 3.300 meter persegi,” ujarnya.

Dikatakan, terminal bandara tiga lantai itu sudah se-lesai sekitar 50% yakni konstruksi dan atap, namun tak terlihat satu orang pun tukang yang sedang bekerja. Me-mang pembangunan terminal bandara sempat berhenti sejak sekitar satu bulan lalu, dan sekitar beberapa minggu ke depan akan dilanjutkan pembangunannya.

“Pembangunan berhenti karena dana tahap pertama untuk konstruksi dan atap sebanyak Rp46 miliar sudah habis. Tahap selanjutnya dilakukan pelelangan lagi yang anggarannya sebanyak Rp 93 miliar. Dana sebanyak itu termasuk untuk kursi, lemari, AC termasuk tanaman. Ter-minal bandara yang sedang dibangun akan menampung 600-700 orang penumpang. Saat ini, penumpang bandara Komodo sekitar 400 orang per hari yang dilayani empat armada pesawat jenis Foker,” katanya.

Ditambahkannya, dipastikan kalau Bandara Komodo sudah bisa didarati pesawat Boeing 737, maka harga tiket Labuan Bajo-Denpasar Bali dan sebaliknya yang saat ini sampai Rp1.400.000 per orang akan turun menjadi Rp400.000-Rp500.000 saja. (*)

Investasi di sektor pariwisata terus bertambah di Tanah Air, namun, tenaga kerja profesional di sektor pariwisata

ternyata masih minim. Director of International Admissions East Asia Institute of management (EASB) Singapura Ivy Ang, di Jakarta mengatakan tenaga berkualitas masih sedikit. Makanya banyak tenaga-tenaga asing yang akhirnya dibayar tinggi. Singapura juga sama. Ada 6 perusahaan perhotelan telah menyatakan komitmennya untuk berinvestasi di dalam negeri. Sebut saja Accor group yang akan membuka 190 hotel hingga 2015 dan Tauzia group.

“Itu baru bisnis hotel, belum lagi unit usa-ha lainnya seperti restoran, penerbangan, transportasi, dan lainnya. Para investor ber-investasi karena melihat objek wisata alam yang indah dan unik. Sebagai contoh, objek

wisata di yogyakarta dikenal dengan budaya etnisnya, lalu Bali dengan romantisme pan-tai,” ujarnya.

Dikatakan, di samping itu, Indonesia memiliki keunggulan demografi. Masyarakat kelas menengah terus bertambah jumlah-nya. Bisnis hotel terus berkembang. Kalau suatu perusahaan perhotelan mau masuk ke suatu negara, pasti mereka survei dulu, mana mungkin mereka buka bisnis kalau tidak ada pangsa pasar.

“Untuk memenuhi kebutuhan industri tersebut, perlu dorongan sumber daya ma-nusia (SDM). Saya juga melihat sekolah-sekolah yang menyediakan SDM di sektor pariwisata selain semakin banyak, pemi-natnya juga tidak pernah menurun. EASB sendiri dulu kita mulai masih sedikit 50 orang siswa tahun 2001, sekarang kita su-

dah 4.000 dan terkoneksi dengan sekolah-sekolah pariwisata lain,” katanya.

Ditambahkannya, kondisi perekonomian global yang masih belum beranjak dari ket-erpurukan dinilai tidak berpengaruh terhadap industri pariwisata, baik di Singapura maupun di Indonesia. Ketika masyarakat mengalami stres akibat kekurangan uang, mereka cend-erung traveling untuk mengurangi stres.

“Ketika bisnis sedang tidak bagus, biasan-ya para pengusaha cenderung lebih banyak melakukan upaya-upaya untuk memajukan bisnisnya, eksplorasi tempat-tempat lain untuk bisa buka bisnis baru. oleh sebab itu, saya tidak melihat sektor tourism terancam dengan kondisi global yang saat ini belum membaik. Sektor keuangan mungkin mun-dur tapi sektor pariwisata masih terus ber-tumbuh,” ungkapnya. (*)

Pemerintah Indonesia melalui Kementerian Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif (Kemenparekraf) bekerja

sama dengan “Indonesia Coffee Festival Management” menggelar “Indonesian Coffee Festival 2013″ di Yogyakarta, 14-15 September 2013. “Ini sebagai salah satu upaya kami untuk mendorong kopi Indonesia supaya lebih dicintai di negeri sendiri,” kata Direktur “Indonesian Coffee Festival” (ICF) yanthi Tambunan di Jakarta belum lama ini.

Selain itu, ajang yang juga melibatkan Komunitas Kopi Spesial Indonesia itu di-harapkan mampu mengangkat harkat dan martabat petani kopi di Indonesia.

Ia menambahkan, ICF sekaligus di-harapkan bisa memopulerkan produk kopi unggulan yang dihasilkan Indonesia agar lebih dikenal, baik di dalam maupun di luar negeri. “Acara ini juga merupakan salah satu upaya branding kopi asli Indonesia seperti pada kopi luwak dan kopi tubruk,” katanya.

ICF juga diupayakan mampu menjadi wahana untuk menciptakan hubungan sal-ing menguntungkan antara industri kopi dari hulu hingga hilir, yaitu antara petani, pedagang, produsen, dan eksportir kopi di dalam dan di luar negeri.

Rangkaian kegiatan ICF 2013 di yogya-karta 14-15 September 2013 nanti akan memperkenalkan beberapa kopi terbaik

Indonesia sebagai produk unggulan sep-erti kopi Aceh, kopi Flores, kopi Jawa, kopi Lampung, kopi Bali, kopi luwak, kopi Tora-ja, dan kopi Papua.

Masing-masing kopi memiliki keunikan dalam pengelolaan serta penyajiannya sehingga diharapkan menjadi daya tarik wisata kuliner sebagai bagian dari wisata minat khusus. “Upaya ini otomatis akan mengangkat daerah penghasil kopi di In-donesia yang berpotensi menjadi kawasan agrowisata, sehingga dapat tercapai eco tourism,” katanya.

Tahun lalu, festival serupa digelar di Ubud, Kabupaten gianyar, Bali, dan tahun ini festival tahunan tersebut mengusung tema Kopi Tubruk, The Local Lifestyle. Tema diharapkan yanthi mampu men-gangkat kearifan lokal Indonesia.

Festival tahun ini akan turut mempromo-sikan kopi spesial Indonesia agar menjadi primadona dunia melalui pemberian ruang kepada pelaku industri kopi untuk berkun-jung ke perkebunan kopi single origin lokal, forum bisnis internasional, barista work-shop, roasting workshop, latte art demon-stration, roast coffee, dan coffee talk.

85% Ekspor Kopi Diserap Amerika Serikat

Kesempatan sama, Zulfikar, Staf pada Direktorat Jenderal Perdagangan Luar

Negeri Kementerian Perdagangan men-gatakan ekspor kopi Indonesia dari tahun ke tahun sebanyak 85 persen di antaranya diserap oleh pasar Amerika Serikat (AS) sebagai salah satu negara dengan ting-kat konsumsi yang tinggi. “Ekspor kopi kita sekitar 85-90 persennya diserap oleh pasar AS,” katanya.

Pada 2012 pihaknya mencatat ekspor kopi Indonesia mencapai 320 ton atau naik 8 persen dibandingkan tahun lalu. Menu-rut dia, potensi pasar AS merupakan salah satu yang terbesar meskipun di dunia AS bukan negara termasuk konsumen kopi terbesar. “Kalau dibandingkan dengan komposisi peminum kopi dunia, AS ter-masuk yang terbesar,” katanya.

Ia mencontohkan, jumlah penduduk AS berkisar 320 juta penduduk dan jika 200 juta di antaranya adalah peminum dua gelas kopi perhari maka jumlah konsumsi kopi di AS sangat besar.

Pihaknya sendiri mendorong sentra-sentra kopi di Tanah Air untuk meningkat-kan produktivitasnya, khususnya dari sisi teknologi. “Sebab jika dibandingkan den-gan produktivitas negara lain, produksi kita masih sangat rendah,” katanya.

Produktivitas kopi Indonesia diperkira-kan masih 1 ton perha sedangkan Vietnam saja telah mencapai 4 ton per hektar. “Kita masih bisa kejar, lahan kita masih banyak yang bisa dimanfaatkan,” katanya. (*/bw)

Pihaknya menargetkan bisa membuka lima gerai restoran serupa sampai tutup tahun ini dengan investasi yang ditanam-kan pergerai Rp3,5 miliar hingga Rp5 mil-iar. “Saat ini kami sudah membuka tiga ge-rai, pertama di Beachwalk Kuta, Bali dan dua di Jakarta yakni di Pondok Indah Mall dan Lotte Avenue di Kuningan, Jakarta,” katanya.

Dalam waktu dekat pihaknya akan mem-buka dua restoran lagi di yogyakarta dan Bandung. “Tapi tidak menutup kemungki-nan kami akan membuka di tempat-tem-pat lain yang memang mempunyai potensi besar,” katanya.

Mengangkat Kopi Indonesia Melalui “Indonesian Coffee Festival 2013”

Ternyata daya tarik pariwisata di Indonesia menurut penila-ian dari United Nation World Tourism organization (UN-WTo) masih dibawah Singapura dan Malaysia. Ini menjadi

pertanyaan besar? mengingat Indonesia lebih luas dan mempu-nyai daya tarik yang lebih banyak. Setelah dilihat, ternyata salah satu penilaian UNWTo berdasarkan kegiatan festival/even di negara tersebut.

“Festival atau even juga merupakan daya tarik, ternyata itu menjadi penilaian juga. Bagaimana mengemas suatu festival dan mempromosikan dengan baik agar mendunia,” ujar Ratna Suranti, Direktur Pencitraan Indonesia, Kementerian Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif di Jakarta.

Saat ini, Indonesia telah memiliki even berkelas dunia, seperti Tour de Singkarak, Java Jazz maupun Jakarta Fashion Week. Diharapkan festival-festival budaya di daerah mesti bisa mengi-kuti cara mengemas dan mempromosikannya.

Ratna menyadari era digital saat ini, internet menjadi salah satu media yang tepat untuk mempromosikan suatu festival atau even agar bisa menjangkau dunia. “Dunia pariwisata sangat membutuh internet sebagai ajang berpromosi, karena ini adalah jendela dunia,” ujar pejabat yang gemar olahraga diving ini.

Terkait hal itu, pihaknya kini sedang bekerjasama dengan me-dia-media online maupun para blogger untuk mempromosikan kegiatan festival di Indonesia. “Kami berupaya menggandeng media online maupun para blogger agar turut aktif mempromo-sikan, mereka merupakan pintu gerbang menembus dunia Inter-nasional,” paparnya.

Selain itu, lanjut Ratna peran media sosial tidak kalah penting-nya. “media sosial seperti facebook maupun twiiter mempunyai pengaruh yang cukup besar dalam mempromosikan pariwisata di Indonesia,”jelasnya.

Ratna mencontohkan twitter, dimana di Jakarta mempunyai pengguna jutaan orang bahkan paling besar di dunia. “Twitter sangat besar usernya (pengguna) di Indonesia, khususnya Ja-karta. Bahkan terbesar di dunia, sebab itu Jakarta dijuluki ‘City of Twitter’. Bayangkan jika sebagian besar user tersebut tiap hari men’tweet’ salah satu festival atau even di Indonesia, pastinya seluruh dunia akan menengok ke Indonesia,” ungkap Ratna.

Namun, jelas Ratna, sebagian besar pengguna twitter di Ja-karta masih berkutat dengan hal-hal yang bersifat pribadi. “Ke-banyakan men-tweet kegiatan pribadi seperti ‘mau mandi, pergi sekolah, putus cinta…dan sebagainya’ yang tentunya kurang berefek dalam promosi pariwisata,” jelas Ratna.

Peran media online dan blogger diharapkan bisa menjadi garda depan dalam memberi edukasi kepada masyarakat, bah-wa mereka (para user media sosial) juga bisa turut aktif dalam mempromosikan pariwisata Indonesia.

Ratna juga menjelaskan, saat ini pihaknya telah memiliki por-tal promosi pariwisata yang sudah mendapat kurang lebih lima ribu pengunjung setiap harinya, yaitu www.indonesia.travel. “Portal ini sebagai etalase (toko) untuk mempromosikan daya tarik pariwisata Indonesia, selain itu kami juga menggandeng portal wisata lainnya serta merangkul para blogger,”pungkas Ratna. Perhimpunan negara-negara Asia Tenggara (ASEAN) mem-promosikan enam tema perjalanan pariwisata kreatif dan eksperimental untuk mendorong perjalanan multi-negara

di seluruh Asia Tenggara.Aung Zaw Win, Director general, Ministry of Hotels and Tour-

ism Myanmar, yang juga menjabat Chairman of the ASEAN Tourism Product Development Working group mengatakan dis-ebutkan promosi wisata itu merupakan bagian dari pelaksanaan ASEAN Tourism Marketing Strategy 2012-2015 yang mengambil team The Tastes of Southeast Asia, ASEAN, Tropical Paradise, World Class Cities, Experience Diverse Traditions, Sport and Relaxation, and Diverse Contemporary Creativity.

“Sebanyak 20 perusahaan perjalanan wisata menawarkan tema -tema tersebut dalam jadwal perjalanan multi country yang tersedia dalam portal resmi ASEAN yaitu www.aseantourism. Ada banyak perjalanan yang sudah ditambahkan dalam situs tersebut. Fokus baru kami adalah pariwisata yang penuh pen-galaman dan kreatifitas yang menghormati lingkungan dan bu-daya,” ujarnya.

Dikatakan, sebuah pengalaman perjalanan otentik yang meli-batkan budaya warisan, seni dan karakter khusus di setiap neg-ara ASEAN yang menjadi tujuan. Kami mendorong travel agent di negara-negara ASEAN untuk mengembangkan paket ke lebih banyak negara yang lebih menyoroti pengalaman dan kreatif pariwisata, yang mana menunjukkan kecenderungan yang men-ingkat di kalangan konsumen yang menginginkan perjalanan yang otentik.

Resmi didaulat sebagai seni tradisi budaya milik bangsa sendiri serta telah menjadi warisan budaya dunia.

Sayangnya keberadaan Seni Wayang justru dibiarkan bertarung berjalan sendiri untuk melawan budaya global. Dampaknya, seni wayang saat ini semakin tergilas lantaran banyaknya budaya asing yang sudah masuk ke negeri ini.

Direktur Seni Pertunjukan dan Industri Musik Kementerian Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif, Juju Masunah mengatakan seni per-tunjukan wayang perlu dikembangan dalam berbagai bentuk kreasi untuk bisa digemari anak muda, ini merupakan tantangan bagi kita semua bagaimana memasarkan seni pertunjukan wayang di kalangan anak muda.

“Seni pertunjukan wayang kini telah berubah mengikuti perkembangan jaman, dengan munculnya berbagai bentuk kreasi wayang, upaya wayang menjadi industri kreatif dengan sendirinya akan melestarikan wayang itu sendiri,” ujarnya saat pembukaan Lokakarya Pelestarian Wayang, “Wayang Digemari Kaum Muda” di Hotel grand Sahid Jaya, Jakarta beberapa waktu lalu.

Lokakarya Pelestarian Wayang,”Wayang Digemari Kaum Muda”, yang digagas Forum Wartawan Parekraf dan Total E&P Indonesie serta didukung Kementerian Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif ini menghadirkan pembicara Suparmin Sunjoyo, Nanang Hape dan Taufik Rahzen.

Suparmin Sunjoyo, ketua Sekretariat Na-sional Pewayangan Indonesia (Senawangi) juga berharap, dengan turut ambil bagiaan-nya semua warga bangsa, dengan sendi-rinya wayang akan bertahan dengan caranya sendiri. Karena wayang adalah satu dari ban-yak warisan kebudayaan asli Indonesia.

“Wayang asli Indonesia, yang dari India hanya ceritanya, yaitu Ramayana dan Ma-habharata. Sebagaimana Sam Pek Eng Tai dari China, dan Romeo Juliat dari Eropa,”

katanya.Meski dia juga sangat menyadari kendala

dan tantangan wayang sangat besar sekali. yaitu dibiarkan bertarung sendirian melawan budaya global, yang besar kekuatan modal-nya, dengan teknologi modern dan jaringan kuat, “Plus negara kurang memberi proteksi, apalagi memberi fasilitas, dan minim mem-berikan dukungan dana,” katanya.

Tidak seperti Jepang, China, Korea, Viet-nam, imbuh dia, yang pembangunan karak-ter bangsa menjadi prioritas, via kebudayaan aslinya. “Sehingga pembangunan kebu-dayaan, yang menempatkan ide-ide, nilai-nilai lokal yang tumbuh dan berakar di bumi sendiri, benar-benar kuat”, ujarnya.

Menurut dia, penyebab turunnya minat gen-erasi muda kepada wayang karena, faktor ba-hasa, durasi, lakon yang berat dan terlalu filo-sofis. Selain itu, menurut dia, wayang, sebagai komoditas budaya, belum sanggup mengim-bangi budaya massa yang mendunia.

Jika wayang Indonesia sampai punah, maka hal itu dapat mengancam kelangsun-gan bangsa. Pasalnya wayang Indonesia bukan sekedar pertunjukan boneka, tetapi juga berisi pesan etika dan moral perilaku yang sebelumnya sempat menjadi pegangan orang-orang Indonesia.

“Moral, etika dan tuntunan perilaku ini pent-ing dalam membentuk bangsa. Contoh yang nyata adalah, bangsa Jepang, Korea, China dan Vietnam maju pesat karena anak mudan-ya memiliki etos moral dan etika budayanya,” jelas Suparmin.

Pada kesempatan sama, dalang wayang urban Nanang Hape menuturkan sejumlah solusi agar seni wayang bisa bertahan. Per-tama ada dukungan politik dari pemerintah. Dengan adanya dukungan itu, maka hal sep-erti fasilitas pentas wayang, dan menggratis-kan pertunjukan bisa dilakukan.

Hal kedua dalam bentuk edukasi. Artinya wayang diperkenalkan dalam pendidikan for-

mal. Ketiga pemerintah menyediakan penga-jaran dan pelatihan terkait penggunaan baha-sa selain jawa dalam pentas wayang, teknik permainan, strategi komunikasi dan lain-lain.

Terakhir, tambah dia, di era industri kre-atif, wayang perlu didorong untuk memasuki langgam ekonomi kreatif melalui bersin-ergi dengan kekuatan ekonomi, industri dan teknologi.

Bersama sejumlah rekannya, Nanang Hape menciptakan wayang Sandosa, seba-gai salah satu kiat untuk menciptakan komu-nikasi yang semakin linear atau cair kepada generasi muda.

Peran serta sejumlah selebritas dalam mendekatkan wayang kepada generasi muda, dia nilai juga sangat penting demi menjaga nafas wayang, “Karena masih ada selebriti yang dekat dan ngerti wayang. Meski banyak juga yang nggak ngerti,” katanya.

Lain halnya budayawan Taufik Rahzen, dia mengungkapkan wayang akan melakukan perlawanan dengan caranya sendiri. Seba-gaimana telah dilakukannya sejak ribuan ta-hun lalu, untuk terus bertahan hidup, dengan menyerap semua wajah kebudayaan yang ada di sekitarnya. Meski pada saat bersa-maan, generasi muda saat ini telah berjarak dengan wayang.

Hal itu bisa terjadi karena wayang sangat kuat, sekaligus lentur untuk terus beradapta-si, untuk mengubah bentuknya dalam maujud baru, “Dengan mengadaptasi kebudayaan yang ada di sekitarnya,” ujar Rahzen.

Dia membandingkan dengan keberadaan wayang di Indonesia, khususnya Jawa, dengan wayang di China bahkan di yunani, “yang pendukung wayang versi mereka, san-gat kecil sekali. Hanya pada kisaran keluarga besar. Tidak sebagaimana di Indonesia, yang masih dikatakan masih hidup dengan kuat, dengan caranya sendiri. Walau tetap ada jaraknya dengan penonton dan penikmat muda,” ungkapnya. (*/bw)

Tantangan Jaman

Kementerian Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif kembali menggelar lomba dan pameran foto Indonesia 2013 yang bertemakan “Indonesia di

Hatiku”. Lomba itu dikaitkan dengan Hari Ulang Tahun Republik Indonesia dan menyediakan total hadiah Rp 282,5 juta.

Ini lomba foto dengan hadiah terbesar dalam sejarah lomba foto di Indonesia, dibagi dalam tiga kategori: Pela-jar, Mahasiswa dan Umum. Tak cuma itu, pemenang juga bakal dapat Piala Presiden dan dapat kesempatan ber-silaturahmi dengan presiden RI pada 18 Agustus 2013 sekaligus dilakukan pemberian hadiah dan penghargaan pada saat itu.

Menteri Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif (Menparekraf), Mari Elka Pangestu mengharapkan dalam lomba tahun ini, karya foto yang diterima panitia melebihi angka ta-hun lalu. Untuk saat ini, dari 11 Mei hingga 4 Juni 2013 telah masuk 2.535 karya foto, atau rata-rata 106 per hari. Provinsi yang paling banyak mengirim karya foto dari Jabar (138) dan Jatim (115) Namun, selain dari segi kuantitas diharapkan ada peningkatan secara kualitas juga.

“Peminat lomba foto tiap tahunnya selalu meningkat. Ini membuktikan, objek yang bakal diabadikan cukup banyak. Para peserta masih punya kesempatan untuk berburu objek foto, karena Indonesia memang meny-impan potensi alam yang indah. Lomba ini juga sekali-gus bisa jadi ajang promosi kepariwisataan yang ada di daerah,” ujar Mari Elka Pangestu dalam jumpa pers di gedung Sapta Pesona, Jakarta belum lama ini.

Presiden Susilo yudhoyono sebagai penggagas lom-ba foto ini, diharapkan lomba ini mampu meningkatkan apresiasi masyarakat terhadap karya fotografi sekaligus memberikan ruang bagi talenta kreatif muda mengek-spresikan rasa cinta dan bangsa terhadap Indonesia. “Karya foto adalah media yang baik untuk melihat po-tensi dan kekayaan pariwisata dan ekonomi kreatif Indo-nesia,” ucap Mari Pangestu.

Mari menambahkan, melalui ajang tersebut pihaknya berupaya agar insan kreatif di seluruh provinsi di Tanah Air bisa menceritakan dan mempromosikan pariwisata dan ekonomi kreatif yang ada di daerah asalnya melalui karya foto.

Dewan juri adalah oscar Motuloh (galeri Foto Jurnal-istik ANTARA), Arbain Rambey (fotografer senior Kom-pas), Agathe Anne Bunanta (fotografer, juri internasion-al), Reynold Sumayku (Editor Foto National geographic Indonesia), dan Ve Dhanito (fotografer konseptual).

Untuk batas akhir pengumpulan karya akan selesai pada 18 Juli mendatang. Penjurian akan dilakukan pada 25 Juli 2013. Sedangkan pengumuman pemenang di-lakukan pada 17 Agustus 2013. Para pemenang menda-patkan kesempatan bersilaturahmi dengan Presiden RI pada 18 Agustus. Lomba ini terbuka untuk pelajar, mahasiswa, masyarakat umum warga Negara Indonesia. Setiap pe-serta hanya bisa mengikuti lomba dengan memilih satu kategori saja dari daftar yang telah ditentukan dengan verifikasi data lomba melalui alamat email yang diguna-kan.

Karya foto yang dikirim adalah karya ciptaan sendiri (dua tahun terakhir, yang akan dibuktikan dari data exif file foto), belum pernah dipublikasikan di media cetak skala nasional, dan belum pernah memenangkan peng-hargaan dalam lomba fotografi apa pun. Foto yang diikut-sertakan dalam lomba adalah hasil foto dari pemotretan menggunakan kamera digital.

Peserta diberikan kebebasan dalam memilih objek fo-tografi yang dimiliki daerahnya masing-masing (sesuai identitas diri) meliputi kategori (objek) alam, ciptaan ma-nusia, adat istiadat dan budaya. (*)

Lomba Foto Berhadiah Terbesar Digelar

Asosiasi Travel Asia Pasifik (Pacific Asia Travel Association/PATA) memperkirakan jumlah pengunjung

wisata di kawasan Asia Pasifik tahun 2013 hingga 2007. “Sangat merekomendasikan hasil prakiraan kunjungan wisata untuk kawasan Asia Pasifik hasil kerja sama dengan The Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Hotel and Tourism Managemen (PolyU) tersebut kepada rekan dan anggota asosiasi yang tersebar di 17 zona waktu,” papar CEo PATA, Martin J Craigs, dalam keterangan persnya.

Prakiraan itu, dibuat secara lengkap dengan perkiraan baru perekonomian pen-gunjung sehingga akan memudahkan bagi organisasi pariwisata untuk mengantisipasi tren permintaan dan pelayanan wisatawan.

Prakiraan tersebut, lanjutnya, dibuat per tahun dan triwulan mencakup dalam pe-riode lima tahun ke depan. Prakiraan juga menampilkan variabel elastisitas harga, informasi tentang kedatangan pengunjung untuk memilih negara dari pasar-pasar uta-ma negara tujuan wisata, pengeluaran pen-gunjung di satu negara, dan keberangkatan pengunjung dari satu negara.

Pada edisi tahunan menampilkan lapo-ran hasil analisis dan implikasi prakiraan dengan mempertimbangkan tren tertentu di daerah tertentu.

Prakiraan dibuat menggunakan kom-binasi metodologi statistik dan “judgmen-tal forecasting” dengan maksud untuk menghasilkan perkiraan yang lebih akurat dan dapat diandalkan. Dengan kata lain, sistem ini menggabungkan teknik prakiraan ekonometrik canggih serta pendapat ahli da-lam prakiraan permintaan untuk perjalanan dari berbagai sumber pasar wisatawan ke tujuan wisata di kawasan Asia Pasifik.

Meski, menurut dia, jelas bahwa permint-aan untuk inbound dan outbound wisata di Asia Pasifik tumbuh, namun detail prakiraan permintaan perjalanan akan memberi pan-duan kondisi perekonomian pengunjung sehingga memberi gambaran pengeluaran calon wisatawan di satu negara.

Hal tersebut, lanjutnya, membantu mem-permudah pengambilan keputusan peren-canaan untuk investasi infrastruktur, mana-jemen sumber daya manusia, pemasaran sumber daya serta alokasi dana untuk pengembangan produk baru.

Jumlah kunjungan wisatawan ke kawasan Asia Pasifik diperkirakan akan terus tumbuh dengan tingkat pertumbuhan per tahun 4,1 persen selama periode 2013 hingga 2017, sehingga dapat mencapai 581.000.000 orang pada 2017.

Kawasan Asia Timur Laut akan memper-tahankan posisi dominan di pasar “inbound” wisata Asia Pasifik, dan pangsa pasarnya akan mencapai 53,52 persen pada 2017. China akan terus menjadi tujuan utama di Asia Pasifik, dengan jumlah pengunjung diperkirakan mencapai 147.400.000 orang pada tahun 2017.

Sedangkan jumlah pengunjung ke Hong Kong akan melampaui Amerika Serikat pada 2015, dan menjadi negara tujuan den-gan jumlah pengunjung terbesar kedua di kawasan Asia Pasifik.

Jumlah kedatangan pengunjung asal Chi-na ke kawasan Asia Pasifik lain akan me-lebihi 100 juta pada tahun 2015. Kamboja, Maldives, Cina Taipei, Bhutan, dan Mongo-lia diperkirakan akan menjadi negara tujuan wisata yang mendapat kunjungan terbesar dalam periode 2013 hingga 2017. (*)
