Twenty-Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time September 20 2020

So many things have changed since the arrival of the Coronavirus Now the way we interact with one another is so different from before with the mandates of social distancing the use of masks and the limited number of people who can congregate I think it is safe to say that the majority of us miss the interaction we once had with an expression of a firm handshake an embrace and even a party to celebrate a special occasion During the last several months we have experienced separation and isolation of which we were not accustomed In the past our Church grounds and buildings were used every day of the week to host the gatherings of different ministries and simply socializing We have to discover new ways of connecting with one another as a community of Our Lady of Guadalupe lets do that this week As pastor of our parish I am asking everyone to reach out to one another Connect with at least 5 other parishioners and just have a conversation via phone conversation text e-mail or a social distancing visit with you standing out in the front yard and the other on the porch Be creative in reaching out to one another connect with at least 5 others or for those who are overachievers do 10 Then go to our Facebook page and report mission accomplished and maybe even a few words to describe how it went In the past few years our parish has developed a strongly connected community let us not allow the virus to come between us and damage who we are iexclHan cambiado tantas cosas desde la llegada del Coronavirus Ahora la forma en que interactuamos entre nosotros es tan diferente de antes con los mandatos del distanciamiento social el uso de maacutescaras y el nuacutemero limitado de personas que pueden congregarse Creo que es seguro decir que la mayoriacutea de nosotros extrantildeamos la interaccioacuten que una vez tuvimos con una expresioacuten de un firme saludo de mano un abrazo e incluso una fiesta para celebrar una ocasioacuten especial Durante los uacuteltimos meses hemos experimentado una separacioacuten y un aislamiento al que no estaacutebamos acostumbrados En el pasado los terrenos y edificios de nuestra Iglesia se usaban todos los diacuteas de la semana para albergar las reuniones de diferentes ministerios y simplemente para socializar Tenemos que descubrir nuevas formas de conectarnos entre nosotros como comunidad de Nuestra Sentildeora de Guadalupe iexclhagaacutemoslo esta semana Como paacuterroco de nuestra parroquia les pido a todos que se comuniquen los unos a otros Coneacutectese con al menos otros 5 feligreses y simplemente tenga una conversacioacuten por teleacutefono mensaje de texto correo electroacutenico o una visita de distanciamiento social con usted parado en el patio delantero y el otro en el porche Sea creativo para acercarse unos a otros coneacutectese con al menos 5 personas o para aquellos que tienen un gran rendimiento iexclhaga 10 Luego vaya a nuestra paacutegina de Facebook e informe la misioacuten cumplida y tal vez incluso algunas palabras para describir coacutemo fue En los uacuteltimos antildeos nuestra parroquia ha desarrollado una comunidad fuertemente conectada iexclno permitamos que el virus se interponga entre nosotros y dantildee quienes somos

In recent bulletin announcements we were informed about the much needed proposed project of updating the seating area of the Shrine to Our Lady of Guadalupe We were asking everyone to participate by provided muscles to remove the seats and the benches food to provide strength for those doing the manual work and PRAYER that all goes well including the safety of all workers I have heard that many are ready and willing to do their part Thank God It was reported that we would do this project on a Sunday after the 200 Mass however in the discussion to prepare for this event it was decided that a Saturday morning beginning at 700 am would be more beneficial We realize that many people are working on that day and will not be able to help if that is your situation we call upon your prayerful support For all others be ready it is about to happen If you can bring cordless drills to remove the nuts and bolts and cutting grinders to smooth out the bolts which we are not able to remove The seating that was installed many years ago came from a stadium in the Dallas area it has served its purpose but it is time to change it out I know once completed we will be happy to see the improvement and how we honor our Blessed Mother under the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe

In recent bulletin announcements we were informed about the much needed proposed project of updating the seating area of the Shrine to Our Lady of Guadalupe We were asking everyone to participate by provided muscles to remove the seats and the benches food to provide strength for those doing the manual work and PRAYER that all goes well including the safety of all workers I have heard that many are ready and willing to do their part Thank God It was reported that we would do this project on a Sunday after the 200 Mass however in the discussion to prepare for this event it was decided that a Saturday morning beginning at 700 am would be more beneficial We realize that many people are working on that day and will not be able to help if that is your situation we call upon your prayerful support For all others be ready it is about to happen If you can bring cordless drills to remove the nuts and bolts and cutting grinders to smooth out the bolts which we are not able to remove The seating that was installed many years ago came from a stadium in the Dallas area it has served its purpose but it is time to change it out I know once completed we will be happy to see the improvement and how we honor our Blessed Mother under the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe

This past weekend those who came to the Parking Lot Mass were given a decal of the rosary with the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe That was a gift of thanksgiving for you who come and participate in the Masses It was from the Parking Lot Mass team who are here each week directing traffic and working each Mass They also have expressed their gratitude for those who have provided a meal for the team after they have put everything up for the following Sunday Be assured their prayers are with you and they ask for your prayers in return
